    • So their ignorance/incompetence is your problem why exactly? Sounds like a them problem not a you problem and definitely not one you should be paying for.
    • Prop shaft ready to be sent off to be lengthened . Half shafts can now also be made up .  Tidy Spit sitting outside .
    • Been fined a couple of times on the motorbike. First occassion, local council gym, no charge for motorcycle parking, but never had the gall to take up a whole car space with the bike when there were mums taking their kids swimming waiting in line for a vacant space. Along with the other odd motorcyclist I would  park out of the way next to the cyclist shed. Did this for years then got a ticket for parking outside a designated parking space. Appealed but got the same 'quote'. Council said they would Mark out a space for motorcycles to park, it never happend, so I cancelled my membership.
    • Back to bollocks indeed John Here was me thinking that ignorance of the law (in this case not knowing about permits for practice staff) was no defence from the law. I would check just how long your vaxing permit was valid as I suspect it may be deemed expired once the vaccination season is over. I'd appeal again, you probably have nothingto lose. I'm in Scotland so not entirely clear on the rather arcane parking rules in Ingerland. Mind you up here it seems to be a complete free for all. Got blocked in to my driveway yesterday by a god botherer off to the Eid breakfast two streets away. Utter carnage, double and triple parking everywhere. Polis came, really nice but said there was nothing they could do other than ask people not to do it. Funny old world. Did manage to catch the culprit when he returned. A lot of p1sh about it being difficult to find somewhere to park. I agreed but opined that it didn't justify blocking me in. He did apologise
    • Personally I wouldn’t pay it. Not a chance them being ignorant of the permits would stand up.    I have ended up with a few like that at the airport every few years, been fined for stoping at a zebra crossing on double red lines to let someone cross but you can’t see the crossing in their “evidence” I just ignore them, they send a few threatening letters then drop it. The cost of them taking you to court would far out way any payout and you can’t claim legal costs at small claims for payouts less than £10k.
    • Toady , we leave interesting discussions of modified Triumphs and return to Oh, Bollocks! November last, I attended a refresher session in CardioPulmonary Resuscitation, organised for vaccinators by our excellent local GP practice, and held at the University.    A month later, I received a parking fine from "First Parking", despite my having in the windscreen of the modern a permit, issued by the practice on behalf of the University to those who staffed vax sessions there. I appealed immediately to POPLA (Parking on Private Land Appeals) which has returned its verdict, rejecting my appeal, on the grounds that First Parking didn't know about the permits for practice staff.    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! But Double Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!    As I appealed, and didn't pay the fine straight off, I am not allowed the early payment discounted rate of fine and must pay nearly double, £75! Barstewards!
    • Reminds of my dad who advised me not to paint myself into the back of the garage when the original garage was built.  only for a couple years later he was re-coating his - he admitted to leaving the radio on and couldn’t get to it to turn it off when he had finished painting so had to leave it on for 24hrs. He was a life long radio 4 listener so his garage radio was on the mains so no dead batteries.
    • Hello Hamish, I just read the rest of this page AND my wife sent a wood fired heater and a fridge to be fitted to mine! Regards Michael.      It still looks good.
    • Hello Hamish, That all looks neat and tidy and the floor looks about the same shade as mine... Regards, Michael.
    • Hello, A bit more info. And a correction, the springs are 550 lbs., they are King no.S 0orD 87810. At the front there is 85mm between chassis and ground. From guard to centre of hub/wheel on left there is 330mm and on right there is 340mm. Springs that were on car are 300lb./ 10" free length. Reversing the wishbones lowered the front guard to centre of hub by 25mm and the chassis to ground by about 15mm. have to be careful on the road now as the "flexi joint" and sump are about 15mm lower than the chassis. Can't find the free length of the King springs. New spring seats Superpro (they come in two thicknesses) and a new set of trunnion seals/bushes (Superpro) yet to be fitted (they were out of stock when I was doing that job so put the old ones back as I wanted to go to the next GEAR day) To the rear next episode. Regards, Michael.
