Hamish Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) apparently any Classic can have a go From the TRR teach day coordinator:- We've just agreed the date of our next TR Register Track Day at Castle Combe. You can't yet book it, we're working to set it up on the TR Register webshop, but I wanted to give you the opportunity to book it in your diaries. This year we're going to do something slightly different. The track day itself will remain the same, ie 12 cars on the track in four 15 minutes sessions each hour moving to an open pit lane sometime during the afternoon. Around this we are building a club event with group runs to the circuit, lunchtime parade laps (so these don't impact on your track time), an ARDS instructor (Association of Racing Driver Schools) to help you improve and some other changes. So get the date in your diary and the family calendar, book time off work if you need to and hopefully TRR will see you at Castle Combe on 10th April. Edited January 30 by Hamish
Escadrille Ecosse Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Nice Hamish Pity it's so bloody far away or I'd drag the Scimitar out

zetecspit Posted February 5 Posted February 5 oh, my spitfire makes an appearance! Looks like they are trying to promote the event to a wider audience.
Nick Jones Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Might go to the “wider event” but I don’t think I’ll be on the track this time. No long back from Oz so limited prep time and shortly off to France so daren’t break it!

thebrookster Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Gutted I can't make it. One of the delights of having a working car again is the prospect of making some of these events. (Although the GT6 might have to be a trailer queen for anything too far daan saaf, at least until I tame the exhaust a touch). But this time, if I am allowed away from the ship I will be in Kenya visiting family.

Is that you in the yellow spit? You're not sparing any horses, there's some pretty serious load going through those tyres!

Yep, thats me. I think the passenger is Callum, who got rides in several cars that day and wrote a bit of a wish list.

Would love a go in the Frankenspit but not sure it will have reached the “track ready” stage of development by then. GT6…… don’t trust it not to dump engine components on the track if ragged. It’s on my jobs list to sort but the queue keeps getting jumped!

Just that I cheated in the engine dept. I think I am still a bit twitchy in damp conditions after my Scottish incident back in 2008. Loosing back end grip takes me back, in a bad way. Hamish Posted Friday at 09:26 AM Author Posted Friday at 09:26 AM (edited) I know I should do this but it’s only a few days before Shelsley and I think I’ve used up a lot of my car hobby credits !! Edited Friday at 09:29 AM by Hamish 2
Hamish Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Booking now available ignore the novice aspects. They are running pretty much as normal https://app.sheepcrm.com/tr-register/events/tr-register-booking-67a3ac13e6da3dea1bbeb6d3/?force_reload=1
zetecspit Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I have booked. But they have now made it £50 extra if you are not a TRR member, ie the same as joining. So I joined, might w=as well get something for my money. The trouble is the cost has almost doubled, it will put some people off, which may be counter-productive as they often struggle to sell all the places. We shall see...
