Just passed my test!

Just passed my test! (5/10)

  1. Looking awesome! Stupid question probably but is that exhaust going to sit further out than the outside of the wheels?
  2. Thanks Nick, my other option is using my solution I came up with a few years ago using the Toyota starlet cv which then uses the existing bearings and flange.
  3. The one near Horley? Use to go there all the time. Always a good pub!
  4. What we have on small planes for that is a key which turns on and cranks and a switch for the magnetos. As well as having a fuel pump switch. Would work better than unplugging things.
  5. It’s ok, sometimes outside fresh eyes help. I often end up going down one road re inventing the wheel before someone goes have you thought about xyz. I would have to double check as they are built into the pump on the formula Ford dry sump
  6. Stupid question but would a non return valve not solve the problem? It’s what my pump has on it on the sigma.
  7. Slow progress but some new shiny bits for the rear end arrived in the post. So my debate now is if there is enough beef in the aluminium uprights to machine them to take the mgf bearing. A rear diff pumpkin was included in the box of stuff i bought if anyone is after one as it is surplus to requirements for me.
  8. That’s non VCT off memory as well?
  9. Yep formula Ford dry sump 1.6 Ti VCT sigma. It a bit of a one of one as it’s a 1.6 non VCT block I had spare with no miles on it. With a VCT head. Bit of deck work to make it work. PH3 cams, Jenvey 42mm throttle bodies, 3 angle cut valve seats. Lightweight flywheel, helix clutch. Rx8 gear box. Emerald ecu.
  10. A wee bit of time between updates I realise. Work has been mental as of late. But… Engine is ready to go. Gear box is also ready.
  11. I have a galv one on the rack spare if your after one in the U.K.?
  12. Not seen the issue before of the lobbos not going into the diff. I just have a box of generic ones from the motor factors I have used on the couple of dozen r160’s I have set up. I use the old zip tie trick to keep them compressed fully before taping the shaft in. I can dig out a pair and post you them FOC if your struggling?
  13. Any chance you know how long they are? Just wanted to double check my maths for the off the shelf ones I found. (Haven’t had a chance to work on car stuff recently as work has been insane)
  14. I did wonder how many I could cover up in a polytunnel in the fields before I got caught out by the wife, however the savings probably don’t out way the agro I would get 🤣
