2.5piman
Hello all, an interesting MK1 P.I. (as was) racing. From what I saw a very well built car but with a Ford Falcon 4 litre six cylinder engine fitted. This was located quite far back in the engine bay and appeared to have a similar mdification that David Vizard suggests in his book on tuning Triumphs. This is to machine the head to down draught the inlet tracts. It seemed to run well and sounded lovely but was rather outcalssed in teh field he was in. Nick Jones
Presumably this is the same car that Hamish spotted at Shelsley a couple of weeks back?

PS OoopS Just noticed thread title! Would that have been in the Tony Sugden Trophy, for Special Saloons and Modsports? "177, Roy Davis, Triumph PI" Organised by the CSCC, which fills me with joy as that's the club I race with, or would if I can get the damned car working. He might be out in other meetings of the CSCC! Edited August 1, 2022 by JohnD
2.5piman
Hello Nick,John, yes that is the car and it was the Tony Sugden Trophy race. Alec
JohnD
And the CSCC tell me that he is entered at their meeting at Donington, 10-11th September. Because they had one at Oulton's Gold Cup meeting, there isn't a Special Saloons race at the CSCC Oulton meet on the 29th August. John PS I'm entered for the 29th! Swinging 60s, Group 2. Fingers crossed!
