    • Yep, it’s the same.  8 is definitely a call to action!  Sounds like it was caught just in time.  As for the age vs. speed of progression thing, I think it’s a bit of a myth.  There are different forms of PCa (Gleeson scoring partly relates). The lower scoring is less aggressive and slower growing, and is the more common especially in older men. It’s this end of the scale that (rightly) generates the concerns about over-treatment and the “die with it, not of it”, in no small part because the victims are old and likely have other things queuing up to get them! It does sometimes mutate up the Gleeson scale, but only sometimes, and trying to predict who is at risk of this is one of the fields of research. Active surveillance is one sensible response (though the biopsies are not fun). At the other end of the scale is the aggressive PCa, G8 (some say 7) and up, which is proportionately more common in younger men and needs urgent treatment.  Unfortunately it’s quite often found too late for a full cure, but improving treatment means it’s still possible to die with it rather than of it - though the treatments aren’t exactly pleasant. Not aware of any divine exemption for cyclists…. But nothing wrong with being lucky!
    • Ah.... we are at cross purposes I believe, Nicky. What I meant is that there is no evidence of any prostate issues with me. Which i am taking as an excellent excuse to avoid surgery 'down there' for now  I've had enough cardiac related issues over the years to keep me occupied medically
    • I'm not sure I'd forego surgery on that claim.  65 is not - I believe - the "old" they mean when they refer to the slow progression. Just sayin'.....
    • 65... but he knows I ride/race a bike
    • I'm not sure how old you are but I've read prostate cancer progression after a certain age is very slow.  Which would fit the "more likely something else will get you before the prostate" comment.
    • I was having an issue with frequent UTI's over the previous few years. Doctor sent me to a Urologist. He did the "digital" test and wasn't happy with what he felt. So he sent me for a biopsy.  Not sure if the terminology is the same in the UK but they took 10 samples. 3 of them came back with a "Gleason Score" of 8. 1 at 7. 2 at 5. 1 at 4 and 1 at 3. (I panicked.) It was 8 weeks until surgery. In that time they did two different kinds of CT scans, and a radiological full body bone scan. Nothing showed in the lymph nodes, other organs or bones.  After the Specialist discussed removal of the nerve bundle with my wife and I, I agreed to removing it. (No way of telling pre-surgery if it had spread to the nerve bundle.)  After the surgery, they sent the gland to "pathology" who determined it was all still contained within the prostate. Which was very good news. (For the most part.)
    • If I may interject, Secure Boot is indeed essential to installing W11. You can turn it off after it's installed. And from everything I've read, it's not for your security but Microsoft's. It's to prevent piracy of the O/S.  It's also part of the reason why so many people can't install W11 on older computers. If the BIOS/UEFI firmware wont support Secure boot, you can't install it. Because that's how Microsoft protects their own rights. There are also alleged CPU requirements that prevent installation on older machines. Older CPU's don't fully support UFEI. As a result, NONE of my computers will accept W11. Even those all of them are Intel i7 level processors. You can turn it off after W11 is loaded. HOWEVER, you leave yourself at risk of being hit with Rootkits, Bootkits and other malicious software if it's off. It does protect you, but in the case of Windows 11, M/S won't allow it to even install unless it's turned on.  Something else is fishy though, if it blew away his W11 "Key". That should not happen.    If anyone else needs W10 or W11, this is the cheapest source I've found. (Staff: If this isn't allowed, please delete.) NOTE 1: These are OEM versions. Legal but if you change your motherboard, they might not work. (That's how OEM versions work.) • I still use a 2007 27" iMac. Just always worked, never had any issues. I reluctantley installed El Capitan a few years ago, just so i could continue to watch youtube,  but that's as far as I can go with this computer. Since  last year Youtube no longer runs, but forums, eBay, banking etc. all Work fine. I hear friends and family replacing their PC's, it seems fairly regularly, which is why I've only ever purchased Apple desk tops. The Apple computers never failed, or had any software issues, just could no longer run the latest software, so we're replaced and put up in the loft.  I do own an 11 year old Samsung tablet, which I have had a few glitches with over the years. It was stuck in a reboot loop a few days ago, took a chance, replaced the battery with a genuine Samsung item, £10 delivered off eBay, working fine. Never used any security software on either computer.  I just leave well alone, and don't  download anything, other than the odd system update.
    • John,  You seem to have more IT issues than anyone I've ever heard of. It must be very difficult being you. ..
