That’s one of the most egregious ones. Turns itself on and off as the clouds pass. Mostly off this winter in Somerset. Solar capture/storage has been almost zero since end of October… most upsetting. -

Welcome Rainer! Our gain is the TRR’s loss! Been reading the sad story over there and the very eloquent arguments against what is planned. Decision made by persons who do not understand forums and value of freely sharing information. -

Well yes, and the gas and electric you actually get is from wherever, you can't dictate which supply you get, that's not how it works. The energy grid is a fascinating beast, you need a balance of all types of generation to make it work. Nuclear = base load ( they can't be reactive) Wind = only reactive when it's windy Solar = base load, can't turn it off Hydro = reactive Gas/biomass = reactive Whatever is Surplus we export to europe You need all the different types to be able to react to frequency changes. Until we have a decent way to store electricity, we need the mixture.

It's strange that established clubs seem to have long considered the advent of digital forums where members can discuss policy and demand action to be a passing fancy. Ignore them and they'll go away. Rather like the attitude of certain political parties - you've elected us, now piss off while we really party. I suppose that the recent online poll demanding a new general election so that a certain political party can have another go at the drinks cabinet was a trivial indicator, but online government must surely be somewhere in the future. John PS Forgive my background, but I read the thread title as being about fomites - "objects or materials which are likely to carry infection".
