Intermittent wipers. Can I use a cyclical timer?

I have stumbled across "cyclical timers" which appear to have variable on/off timers. Seems they may be suitable for creating intermittent wiper setting? (I am also thinking as a controller for an electric oil pump to feed my garage heater!)

Anybody understand this stuff and can tell me if it should work?

 the only problem I can readily see is that it controls from 0 to 100 minutes

For your wipers you are looking to hold the earth down for apprx 1second. So you may not have the adjustment/resolution  to acheive this.

However they are so cheap get one and find out.

Changing the potentiomètre is maybe all you need to do to change the span?

In the bumpf (which may or may not be accurate!) is says there s a jumper to change from 0-100 seconds, or 0-15 mins. (not encouraging as the headline says 100 minutes, but we live in hope)

I will give it a try, no big loss if it turns out to be junk like 50% of the stuff sold on those sites.

If the circuit used the ubiquitous 555 timer then changing the time span would be simple

But the advert showed a seriously multi legged device.
