    • It won't be on the road this year, as I only have six more rostered breaks at home in 2025. I normally spend a few days each break working on it - making, modifying and fitting parts and then working out the next step. Parts are usually bought online so they're waiting for me when I get back a week or two later. The next steps are Fit the oil thermostat, measure where the oil hoses will run and get them made - either here in Mackay or buy them online. I'll get this part done today I think. Wire the radiator fans to the Link ECU via a relay Finish fitting the speedo angled drives (needs two), lower the gearbox into place and reconnect the driveshaft Remove the coils and dizzy blanking plate and prime the engine oil system Make an air filter housing Buy an Intel-CPU'd laptop and program the Link ECU Start it! Make sure all the plumbing and wiring to the engine have enough freedom to move around Get new fuel lines made up at Proximity Motorsport and get it tuned on their rolling road Start the certification process to be able to register it (and that could be several cans of worms) Melbourne's about 2500km from me, so driving there to see Craig would certainly prove that it's robust and reliable. At the same time, I'm watching my house in New Zealand getting built. Needless to say, that's not a standard build either. Yes, the house really is smaller than my garage.
    • In contrast to the fire emanating from under the bonnet

    • This! Finding it difficult to reconcile the apparent absence of any grip with occasional tyre smoke….
    • enjoyed watching this, old cars, thin tyres and a bit of rain, some great car control!
    • Indeed . I think they intend to construct removable ally covers for either side of the boor
    • That looks well constrained to my eye (assessing through my screen). Some brush based draft excluder type seals to minimise road grime being flung into the boot could be an idea to consider?
    • Seems to all look positive .
    • No good updates on the engine swap. Had a chance to think about it while on holiday and it needs dismantling again, as the crank is too tight (can't turn it very easily even without the pistons fitted). Spoke with the machinist and he offered some useful pointers and a kind offer to help sort this. Hope to get down to block & crank stage again tonight to assess what is binding. Main suspect is the thrust faces on the middle main bearing. Tightness is even throughout the rotation, so crank being bent seems unlikely. Will report back when I know more......
