      Good point. The key will be to distribute the load more widely over what is beneath, so an oversized pad of at least C35 would do the trick. As Colin reinforces, worth taking a bit of informal advice if you can. For the beam protection, instead of plasterboard, a single sheet of 15mm Fermacell is rated for 60mins protection. David, I'm late to the party and just catching up on your underfloor heating project - very interesting. My field is big commercial real estate, so I'm not too familiar with residential systems, but I assume you'll be running constant rather than intermittent heating and I wondered if you'd looked into the implications for air changes and how to create an airtight internal space, and the thermal performance of the other elements of the building - walls, windows/doors and the roof. Essentially, looking at passivhaus standards, but reeled back towards practicality. I'm guessing that you're using a gas boiler - did you consider and dismiss using a heat pump?

      When I was a nipper a bunch of us used to go and relocate some from a field then sell them to the oap's complex next door for 20p a big bunch.  But yes it is a tad early for them.

      Hmmmmmmmmm. That angle - compare with diagram below(from MotorsportUK regulations, Safety Section K, Drawing 39 and para2.1).  Should the anchor be higher up?  Ideally at the same level as your shoulder, which a bar across the fire wall will achieve. JOhn

      They have also moved my throttle pedal Westwards to avoid the front roll bar strut .

      Thanks John , I remember Mr Powell putting a similar bar across the rear of his roll cage . If you look at the above pic of the Kirkey with a cover you can see how it is set up , just anchor bolts with back plates .

      Do you have seat belt anchors worked out?   The OE lap belt points will be fine, and for the crutch straps a reinforced ring bolt in the floor?   But the shoulder straps?   In my Vitesse, I built a bar behind the fire panel into the boot, anchored to the sides and put ring bolts through the panel into that.  See below, the black bar.
