Hamish
Moss is green and doesn’t grow very tall. - winner. it'll take you ages to get rid of that grass that pokes through. i need to move to clear plastic containers at least you have some clue as to what’s inside. Spit131
Sadly not an expert on electrics Pete , relying on a well qualified friend . Will be running a Lincoln TIG and various other stuff . phil , the new lawn from a good local supplier was only 300 for 40 m2 so a bargain if it stays alive . Elephant 1
I might well stick it on SORN until the evil scammers start repairing the roads again . It’s scary enough in the van ! I have not seen a road laying machine around my way in 3 years !

It’s scary enough in the van ! Wouldn't blame you, things have got out of hand on that front. Was driving away from London up the A1 two weeks ago; usually I'm a stickler for lane discipline but this time half my lane-changes were dictated by dodging the worst craters in the tarmac. I went to long distance touring on a BMW R1150 adventure (33L fuel tank!!) with all the touratech kit and garmin satnav and intercom kit. It allowed me to do Zurich ( where me brother lives) to home in a day. Then the f800gs. then a Daimler Dart now my slightly modified TR3a if I had the space ( and the money) I’d have kept the f800 and the cars. Only bike left is my Honda xl185. Spit131
Fun bikes though , remember riding one about a friends grandfathers estate near Lisbon , great fun until I did not see a washing line which caught me straight across my neck .

Spit131
Has not been appreciated by Debra though as , a ) My credit card providers decided a temporary hold on my card could not be removed until the following morning so had to use her card to make the final payment - - - - fatal ! And then - - - I left my phone in the back of the Ducati van so it is now in Worcester until the end of the bank holiday ! ( that is me , definitely NOT Debra ) . Spit131
I would sit opposite my father at their dinning room table only to hear him , with his head in his hands , muttering , ( unintentionally/intentionally ? ) ; ‘ STUPID FOOL ‘ . Never had a problem with it , as I knew he was probably right . In fact , pretty much confirmed by my decision to purchase a smaller/lighter bike to practise on before engaging with the 749 R —————-
JohnD
I had an ex-GPO dispatch rider BSA in the late '60s around London. Bloody lethal, I was lucky to survive. It wasn't the bike, it was the drivers, and they haven't improved. When I ride my push bike, I wear a RED jacket and they still crowd me, pull out in front and generally try to kill me. RogerH
Basically John, you are on a bike- so you are a target. No point in moving out of the way or doing hand signals (not that most cyclists do) they will get you in the end. Roger

Spit131
I actually took a short trip on the 749 , it was insane !! Not the bike to start back on bikes on ! I then bought the 450 and took a ride on that , equally insane ! In fact it chucked me off on an uphill bend , just touched the throttle , rear wheel span and slipped under . Lucky the guy coming in the other direction was quick on the brakes and no damage done . It is now booked in to have the sprockets changed to calm it down a bit . Also big supermoto Berlinger brakes and twin Yoshimuras . I totally agree regarding any form of bikes . You definitely have to take extreme care and expect total indifference from others . Drivers opening their doors has to be the hardest to avoid then drivers unawareness of surroundings .
