James Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I am an electronics dabbler - but that's generally more wires than soldering... I think I'll order the kit and see what it's all about.

Oli Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Could someone be kind enough to repost some of the 1300cc maps mentioned above? Mines a mk3 spit 1300cc which is pretty much standard - minor head work, twin carbs, tubular exhaust Thank you
ahebron Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Any chance of reposting the maps that are missing from this thread, looks to me like its the old Photobucket issue. Thanks Adrian
Bumblebee Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Heres mine if it helps. GT6 on a 35/75 cam ported head triple webers.
rogerguzzi Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Hello All This is what Spitty is set at for now The engine (1500cc) is fully balanced, conrods slightly lightened and shot peened, Flywheel machined all over and slightly lightened, Block decked with a 0.005" pop up Camshaft bearings fitted and small cam fitted (Newman PH2) Duplex chain, Blue printed oil pump with a modified pick up, Windage tray, ITB,s and Micro Squirt, Cylinder head cleaned up and ported by me! compression ratio 9.75 to 1(or close to that) all cylinders within 0.1g , bronze valve guides with seals on inlets, solid spacers on rockers, oil cooler , 2 electric fans that switch on at different temperatures, fuel cooler, high pressure pump in fuel tank(Range Rover) cold air box with filter low at front(so I think it get cool air when moving?) Gearbox rebuilt with a larger bearing on 3rd motion shaft, J type overdrive(28%) with a modified top cover so I have o/d on 2nd gear! Roger
ahebron Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 This is great stuff. Lets keep them coming in if we can so we can re-establish the archive. Adrian
egret Posted April 30 Posted April 30 My Spark advance table. 1300 small crank. Standard pistons, camshaft etc. Bigger valve head with multi angle valve seats. HS4s with stubstacks and custom airbox. 4:2:1 stainless manifold straight through to motorcycle backbox. Running really very nicely now.

Looking for hints as that is the pump I am planning on using for mine (apologies for slight thread drift)
rogerguzzi Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Hello Found the photos at last As you can see I fitted a baffle and braised the screws up but it does not work very well I think I left to many gaps around the edge! I made the pump flange and the braising is a bit messy! Roger
rogerguzzi Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Hello Colin I forgot to say I used the original feed pipe for the return and it points towards the pump. I also changed the rubber in the filler cap to non breathing type and ran a pipe from the blocked up one inside the boot and exiting at rear boot floor' Roger
zetecspit Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) Following on from Rogers pump, I used a Golf mk4 pump that has a built-in swirl pot, and yiu can run the tank near enough dry. Fillting the pump ingolved getting a ring braized to the tank, but it bridged the flange (which had to be cut off in that area) and made a viton seal. I will try to sort a pic Edited May 5 by zetecspit 1
rogerguzzi Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Hello All I looked at those at the time but I was not sure I could get a ring type fitting to seal in the lower part of the tank! The Range Rover one just fits top to bottom the only snag is I would have to remove the tank to change it! But it is a bolt up flange fitting and I paid the extra and bought a genuine Range Rover one and British made if that helps? (Trico I think) It will pump to the bottom of the tank it just when I get to about a 1/3 tank it cuts out on Left Handers if going quick(it can be a Bugger in Spain around islands! I tend to fill the tank when it gets below 1/2 ish but its ok if on motorway type roads and we can do 200+ miles no problem(the Bladder does not last that long!!) Mine is like this one with a filter on it but I also have a in line filter behind the board in the boot a nice metal one off some modern car and cheap as chips(but they no now!)
