    • Update... I did say I'd get it looking like a flare... success! I left the blowtorch aiming at it for about 15 minutes, the steel turned near white it was so hot, lots of deafening speaking, she came free! Threads all look ok, I just need to threadchase down it and repaint it with some por15.  Onwards.  rad cowl fitted, i added a few pieces od sticky rubber pad at the top corners, you can't see it but it's to stop the cowl vibrating against the rad. Nee idle screws as the old ones were driving me crazy woth the locknut idle screw, never seen any others like it. Anyway, new knurled idle screws to make my life easier. New throttle cable cut to size and fitted. Its a spit 1500 cable as its the longest, its easy to cut to size the inner and outer cable and sheath. I also fitted the new BAE needles and filled the dampers up with oil. Next i fitted the backing plate and new MED stub stacks for the hs6's. And here it all is together. The rocker cover painted really doesn't look as bad as i expected as it's a darker colour, I still want a nice black ally one but this will suffice for now. All that's left is that rear adjuster, then it's a good check over of everything before that key gets turned. Hopefully Monday evening I'll have the adjuster and bush to finish it. My God I can't wait to hear this thing again. Jacob
    • I know the feeling I have a friend with a mk3 with newly upholstered seats, and my head wants to be where the roof is. Mk2 woth worn seats..  perfect.  Ah well at least you still have somthing to play with! Gosh yeah it must have been 2021! The time has flown by, uni seems so long ago I don't think I would have finished it the following month if it weren't for your door bits, saved my bacon
    • RCD protect people MCB protect equipment. I have had new RCDs fail, fail, fail, new one arrives and old rcd pass, pass, pass.  Very infuriating but still replace as old one had a fault.
    • Most impressive Nick. Nice to see the pics. I am heading that way in September for a week cycling
    • Turns out that holidays with the “boys” and their better halves is more like boot-camp.  The ladies don’t like to sit by the pool (it’s a bit nippy for that to be fair) I’ve been walked hard this week. Many Kms over rough country. I’ve even kayak’d 7kms, which has at least upper body aches to match the legs and feet. Today was a 15km ramble along the Verdon Gorge. This was most excellent at it is one of natures great cathedrals. Hilly though……
    • Took a few seconds to realise that it wasn't the engine that was rocking!!
    • Helping a mate to get a Spitfire running. The shiny chinese Dizzy was hmmm, have a look
    • Hopefully Neil starts back tomorrow , but a bit has been done in the meantime on mine . The dry sump tank has now been fitted into a hole cut into the battery box . Gives more space in the passenger footwell and makes filling/viewing level easier . The prop shaft has returned modified . The half shafts have been measured up and can now be ordered . The clutch hydraulics have been measured up and hopefully have been ordered . The rear upper arm bars are ready to be welded together with adjoining plates and I have an idea to stabilise any fore/aft movement .
    • Agree. And with that extra sealing layer it might still be usable.
