egret
I'm looking to overhaul the front suspension on my mk4 spitfire. As such if anyone on here has any uprated (around 325 lb/inch 9" free length) coil springs then I'd be interested in buying them. Thought I'd ask here before going to the usual suspects who all appear to be out of stock at the moment.
Nick Jones
Try Faulkner’s if you don’t get any joy on here. https://dfaulknersprings.com/ 9” will need spacers if your dampers have fixed seats.
egret
I'm on what I believe is a totally stock setup and the faulkners spring diameters are smaller that what I've measured. I can't quite get my head around how they will fit the top mounts and shocks. I assume the spacer will be needed to keep the springs located at full droop? Nick Jones
Faulkners do 2.25" and 2.5" ID. Spacers (or helper springs) are needed to keep the spring in place at full droop as you say.
Radioactive Man
Hi I just did similar just before Christmas with springs from Faulkner. 2 1/2" ID, 9" long, 350 lb/inch. Delivery was very fast. I did change the dampers as well with Gaz adjustable ones. Very pleased with the springs, service was brilliant.
egret
Nice, That looks really good. I can't raise the funds for uprated shocks yet, so will have to make some spacers for the stock ones. Cheers all
zetecspit
My springs go loose, must be 9" springs. I welded a 60mm (approx) pit of pipe that matched the diameter of the top pan. If necessary you can cable-tie the spring to teh damper pan (if it is a fixed pan)
