Nick Jones
Yeah....... we needed a bootlid. We had/have two steel ones - both horrifically rotten. Chris didn't fancy the cost of new ones (and apparently they are a crap fit too) so he filled the better of the two we have and took a mould from it. He them made himself one from carbon fibre and foam (we are talking high end aerospace stuff here) which as turned out well. Very light and amazingly rigid. Loads of work though much done at college! Going to have to buy a few panels for the GT6 - Outer sills and an RH rear wing as minimum. Will try and mend fabricate the rest. Nick
mattius
Well its been an eventful night, Woken up by the police at 3am, a very good neighbour was woken by banging and looked out to see two scrotes on a scooter with hammers and crowbars going at my garage door. Luckily they didn't take into account the hidden deadbolts in the door, which held up very well given the punishment they took. They also didn't take into account the CCTV camera hidden inside the garage.... Didn't get any clear head shots, and luckily they didn't get far enough in to take anything, unfortunately they not only saw what was inside but took photos of the contents... Garage door is pretty trashed, but the security measures worked well, haven't slept all night and now off out to repair and strengthen door, police think it is targeted and they may be back... , no other garages attacked on the culdesac... Little scrotes torch (shows up yellow in IR)

mattius
Taken me 6 hours to repair the damage, should be stronger than new now. Would you believe it, i accidentally put two rows of self tapping screws which were too long on top of the door...
zetecspit
I believe carpet gripper is quite a deterrent. And as with your self tappers, they leave behind a handy DNA sample.

itiejim
Smartwater is well worth the investment. It you speak to your local police you may find that they offer a free or heavily discounted kit for burglary victims. Just make sure you mark all your kit, register it and put the stickers up in a very visible place. Evidence shows that it is a very effective prevention measure.
