Bovington has been on my list for very many years. Hoping to actually visit this year April/May with any luck. -
thats very effective camouflage on the tank. IS the shed full of future projects? If so that a lot of work!

Bovington tank museum have filled their project shed…. Here’s one (of very many) they did earlier…. And a just-about mobile pill box -
The outside finish looks very good but I am concerned that any plated areas out of sight have quite a decent amount of surface corrosion. Roger

Hmm. Bit of a time warp car. Looks basically very good (excellent panel gaps) and a fine starting point for a real beauty, but will undoubtedly need more work than implied, especially if you actually want to drive it. Don’t like that some parts of the underside seem to have been sprayed with black snot and others not…. And the wonky front numberplate…. -
This was in my email inbox. I’m sure you guys know enough about these cars but its supposed to be original. https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1974-triumph-gt6-mk3-ndqWR4?bsft_aaid=a5ce63ed-6419-48b8-adb6-8692f74daf04&bsft_bk=block1&bsft_clkid=c971d8a2-bc47-4020-b972-ce993f72e722&bsft_eid=4c858880-2708-4571-b027-28161b9dd6ed&bsft_ek=2026-02-27T08%3A05%3A07Z&bsft_lx=5&bsft_mid=e1caa0fa-029b-480b-9b90-aa9ff861af92&bsft_mime_type=html&bsft_pid=f9132df1-86e0-401a-8e14-c38849f68f19&bsft_pp=1&bsft_tv=114&bsft_txnid=efe0e043-398a-4be4-bce7-780e83299782&bsft_uid=f1119120-5fc5-4edd-9f55-c7188c47b127&bsft_variant_src=ai&bsft_variant_type=control&utm_campaign=eml_rec_commercial_uk_daily_engaged_ending_today&utm_content=targeted-uk-new-design-automated-email-0-30-daily-22-07-24&utm_medium=email&utm_source=blueshift

More a case of my better half liking it and not wanting both floors to be a building site at the same time. The victim ceilings were nowhere as nice as the floor. The house is nothing special really, but I'm glad about that having witnessed my parents renovate a cottage from the 1860s. Latex based adhesive for floors is serious stuff, the solid wood floor on our ground floor was held down with it. When taking it up it pulled up all the parquet and and asphalt tiles that were underneath with it... I think I understand how they felt... -
I can't help but ask why? Is it some special kind of wood? The sliding doors on the main floor suggest it's not a listed building... After a fire, insurance repaired a portion of my home. Including the floor in the rooms. The subfloor was plywood. The solid hardwood on top of it.... which I had nailed and glued down. They cursed me...

No need for council permits or inspections for any asbestos removal on private houses as far as I know. For low level stuff like our ceilings, or asbestos cement board there's no requirement to even use a licenced contractor. Whilst not specifically recommended, you can remove it from your home yourself. Indeed, many councils will dispose of a small quantity for residents for free. My parents' council for example allows up to 18 bags a year and even provide wrapping materials. However, in our area there is no such service, or I may have done this myself. To be honest don't know exactly how they carried out the job as we couldn't be there, but from what I saw they used negative ventilation and sheeted each room from floor to just below the ceiling. The lack of mess was impressive, as I had seen how much rubbish had been left under the floor boards (like in all houses). The ceilings had been previously skimmed over to make them flat, which is how 99% of people deal with this issue, since disposal is expensive - 46sqm was almost £2k. But we need to sort out both the wiring and plumbing and I'm under orders not to damage the glued down solid wood floor upstairs.... -
Q: Did they have to get council permits, and plastic tarp off and seal the entire area, and have special filter fans to create negative air pressure in the work area, to take the artex down? And have council inspections while it was in process?
