Smoke Gets In My Eyes

My nice morning was interrupted by first a strange smell. I switched the heater of,as I suspected the heater had a smelly start of the season. After all - it was the first morning in ages where I had needed the heater. Then I noticed smoked coming from the steering column where the indicator and the lighht switch are.

 

A rather foul smell, and I turned the lights of and avoided using the turn signals.

 

I cant get my headlights to work now :-(

Good reason to fit relays to switch the main/dip lights. Takes the load off the switch contacts and makes the lights alot brighter too.

Well, as 99% of my projects, relays are in the pipeline. Everything has been purchased and rests nicely in a box in the basement waiting for me to get myself together.
