    • A few years ago I got a small bonus at work so I treated myself to a Rigol DS1054Z. I also have 2 old analogue scopes. A smallish Goldstar 20MHz that mostly gets used as an X-Y monitor for arcade pcb repairs and a mahooosive Tektronics 7603 (still my favourite,  but takes up the whole bench!) https://youtu.be/mAx5xCIkPLA?si=MIjKQ6gBBEYEX3AI
    • I did consider that John. But, the title of THAT thread is interesting youtube channels. And while all YouTube channels are videos not all videos belong to YouTube channels or even YouTube. For instance some feel more at home in 'joke of the day' than the YouTube thtlread. So in the Venn diagram of things i felt this particular item was more a lived experience suitable for 'today I...' than it was a serial YouTube learning experience. Mais non?
    • I was wondering about it. I did find more posts but none recent.  I was diagnosed with prostate cancer nine years ago.  Nine years later PSA tests are still coming back at zero.
    • Even on DC, intermittent "blips" are generally visible on the analogue meter. The digitals don't seem able to display them that well.  Of course a scope is better.  I've been looking at one of the new handheld 50Mhz Dual Channel Scope, Multimeter, Signal Generator, out of China. Quality might not be all that great though.   FNIRSI 2C53T https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008777865116.html Reviews are good and I won't be too peeved if it's not as good as hoped at the price. Usually arrives right to the door, no duty or taxes due.
    • Aren't computers "interesting"? In the New Year sales, i bought a new PC to replace my old W10 machine.   A week ago, i turned it on to see this: I took it back to Curry's who kept it for a week, and gave it me back.  Hooray!   I fired it up and saw this: I took it back, again, and they connected to the mains and a monitor on the counter - perfect logon page!  No wonder they found nothing to fix. So their 'expert', who confessed hewasn't the expert, "suspected malware" and turned off the "Secure Boot" option.  " You don't really need it."[    Whereupon the machine demanded the Microsoft 28 character code thst would give access to the hard disk.    I protested that i wanted a new machine, rhis one was useless and "not fit for purpose", but they gently explained that there was no guarantee on software (?).   So I came home with the machine, and  armed with advice, I used my old laptop to go to Microsoft and find this #£"=£&& code.  Wow! I did it!   And the machine boots up into login mode, as usual!  Whoo-Hoo! But with a note under the login logo.   It has lost my logon PIN.  So, back to Microsoft to ask for a new PIN.   MS wants to check it'ks really me, so will send a code to my email adress, which they do, twice.   But their website will not recognise either code, and then to send any more codes.   So, I'll be back at Curry's on Monday, hoping to see the 'real expert' Happy Days! John
    • You might be developing a stutter.... 😁
    • Shouldnt that be in "Interesting YouTube"? John
    • Experimenting with boiling water down the two port at the top means water comes through which ever port it is tipped in.  Anyway final connections complete
    • Just checking the ports and the top top two are clearly connected when cold water flows around either way . The water comes in finds the thermostat door closed and runs back avoiding the single door to the outlet and the top of the rad. When open does the thermostat close the loop diverting all water to the rad
