Me too. While a man of his time and class in many ways, I reckon some of his views might have been considered dangerously progressive and lefty by the gin-soaked colonels and brigadiers that were his contemporaries -

We’ve had a bit of weather….. peeing with rain and blowing like 40 bastards. SM was up fairly early to go to work “something bad is happening!” Drive was under water and overflowing down the side of the house, then over a wall into the stream. This means the drains in the lane are both blocked and flow is HIGH. Went out and unblocked the drains (just love water in my welly before breakfast ) - just leaves and sticks. The water in the lane then dumps into the stream, which floods half the garden but that’s the lesser evil. Could be much worse though. This is from a not-quite-flooded neighbour in the village where the brook crosses the main road. Blue Volvo is theirs and parked. It’s ok. The black SLK is on the road and is drowned. There are a couple of other drowned cars out of sight too. It’s not stopping others trying their luck. Meanwhile, down in Devon the Otter has set a new record and Tipton Garage are having a bad day. -

Good. I have Gripper in the Spitfire mainly due to its hillclimb heritage where lifting a wheel could occasionally happen. I got it set up quite 'soft' and it worked very well on the track and not too obtrusive on the road. Had a look at those for the Scimitar but anything associated with old Jags just adds a premium and the price was not justifiable. And in any case for the road the ATB is as good if not better than a locker. -
Thanks, Clive! I use Norton, which does the same, behind the one password that I can remember, as it's a phrase, while providing a random 20 character (or more, but that seemed enough) password generator. John

I’ve found them good. Buy Koni shocks from them as they are cheaper than UK suppliers even with shipping. Have to ring them to sort it all, but that’s no hassle. -

Today I bollocks..... Yesterday the Scimitar got MOT'd. All clear with no advisories. Whoopee! And today I dropped a wedge on a new Blackline ATB diff for the car. It's now done 145,000 miles on the original axle. A good part of that with the V8 instead of the old Ford V6 boat anchor. There is now quite a lot of backlash in the diff from worn thrusts and the hub bearings are clunking a little. So as I will be rebuilding the thing it seems a good opprotunity to fit the ATB as it can take a bit of care to get the car off the line cleanly if 'pressing-on-a-bit'. Salisbury 4HA as also fitted to things like Jag Mk2 and early E type. -

As Clive says, log out and use the forgot password link to reset. Question though John, what browser are you using? If its Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc there will be a 'saved passwords' section in the 'Settings' menu where all the stuff is stored and a button to click to make the characters visible without the dots. -

As a card carrying athiest since about 9-10 years old I find any kind of religeous zelotory disturbing I have to say. Mostly though I suspect the 'religion' is more about money and power than it is about gods. But then that in my view is what organised religion has pretty much always been about. Having read a bit of Kipling my view is that he has been rather misrepresented. For me his love of India and its people, for instance, comes through very clearly in his stories. Kim in particular I think shows this.
