Yeah stuck it in the drill, clamped the drill in the vice and ziptied the trigger on, then took a grinder to it - my homemade lathe. what could possibly go wrong -

Thank you thank you! I am still to work out the speedo drive but other than that we are done! -

Here is a picture of the back, the bolts that hold the plate on also double as number plate lights, quite a slick solution that is very cheap too. (my exhaust is wonky here as it was only hanging on one hanger) -

Sounds ok. Could probably push the torques up a bit higher with ARP hardware. My only comment would be that if you are going re-torque after only a couple of heat cycles, you should probably do it again after 1000 miles or so. On Bella recently we’ve had just the one re-torque at about 1,500 miles. Longer than I would have chosen, but we got away with it. Curious to see where/how it failed - especially whether it had anything to do with those silly holes in the deck! -

Not sure it folds up small enough to go in the back of a Sprinter van….. sadly! -

A lot to be said for that approach. Plus feeling somewhat virtuous on account of your self sacrifice in helping rather than driving (no one need know otherwise) and we won't tell
