You're right there Nick, I haven't got the literature to hand but think it started being charitable late nineties-ish. There's a book by the late Derek Pollock which chronicles it all, which is a fascinating read.

The use of the special assembly/disassembly tool ( = chisel) was particularly impressive.  Good for another quarter-million km now. 

Harry has some extreme heat mat to go between exhaust and anything sensitive . He is also looking into weather a couple of cam breathers would make sense .

So , Oil system almost complete . Harry is waiting for Titan to confirm/perhaps supply a one way valve for the scavenge line . Hopefully the nice ally catch tank left over from Harry’s MG build will fit where marked on the bulkhead . Harry is planning on getting the exhaust worked on next week which is the end of the complex fab work .

I am only an apprentice trained aerospace engineer and clarity is not optional at supersonic speeds. We had management at BA that didn't always understand.   Roger
