GT6Steve
OOOOHHH BloodyEll, Ordered the two new NUP bearings today. How about 100$ each! Ouch. The 1400 Dollar rebuild kit is looking less a gouge every day. No wonder this data is dear.... :
GT6Steve
Hey Amigos, Spent a lot of the weekend putting the absorption brake back together. It was a bugger but in the end the new bearings went in and everything turned reluctantly. I figured a couple heat cycles would flex everything into place so I continued with the assembly. That said, it's getting easier the more I work it. Must remember to pump in fresh grease!! I'm spending a lot of extra time on the shroud assembly, as you can imagine, and it is fighting me every inch of the way. Sunday afternoon I was at the stage to take it all apart again when I said Sod it and went to the pub. Switching gears, I have to order some hydraulic fluid to refill the transmitters for engine torque. Well my, my! It reguires Dow Corning 200. For 27 years at my old job we were swimming in that crap and I hated it. Now, I need two pints at a cost of $100. Amazing, eh? Ya just gotta laugh sometimes......
