  1. Feels like this thread is being spammed with D3 adverts, Im out
  2. The best one i heard was an American woman claiming it was all "fake news" and that she didn't know anyone that it had affected, the scientist just responded with "give it 2 months, you will". That prediction was sadly right for a lot of us, but i think her view sums up how a lot of people view this.
  3. The main difference between the Swedish and the UK is the majority of People in Sweden observed social distancing on their own, with no need for rules and government, they have self discipline. Unfortunately there is a large proportion of selfish Americanised modern generation of UK which just wouldn't do that! You only have to look at the rush on the supermarkets to tell you that. Or look at places like our local FiveGuys burger takeaway which re-opened and had to call in the police 30mins after opening due to the crowds and people ignoring distancing. I also don't believe that will work in places like London where large amounts of people are living on top of each other, most companies wouldn't force all their staff to work from home until the government told them to
  4. I throw it back in the mrs' face all the time at the moment! She encouraged me to quit lol 7 weeks today, from 25 a day to 0. Glad I did, but don't tell her that! Have you seen whoohan now? No smog looks pretty, worth a visit, oh wait
  5. Arrived today, I like it, a bit big, but it's what I wanted, more a loose sheet than a fitted cover. Fitted covers cause too many problems
  6. Don't think you can add this one to the VitD bandwagon (im on it, have been for years after the old boys (COPD sufferer) doctors told him about the benefits), They think its nicotine, many countries are trialling NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) on patients with Covid as it seems to be relieving some of the symptoms. As for smokers, apparently smokers are less likely to get it, however if they do get it will have far more complex cases of it.
  7. No one knows with China's figures! How do you take them back off the nicotine! Im surprised Trump hasn't jumped on it, Marlborough is American isn't it? Better than telling people to drink Detol!
  8. My mate was forced to sell his after buying a new house, he still tears up when you talk to him about it, love of his life! Was a few years older than that mind you. Nice bling Craig!
  9. Interesting to see that the french are doing studies with nicotine suppliments to front line workers. Apparently studies in china found 6% of the population who smoked got the virus, as apposed to 27% who were non smokers. And after the Mrs Convinced me to stop smoking after being with her for 10 years!
  10. Yeah the problems on the paintwork on my car are caused by it being under an outdoors cover for years. Garage is very dry and very well ventilated (frost is about as bad as it gets) I've gone for one of these, not only cause its cheap, but because its basically a lay over sheet, im basically just wanting to protect from dust and the bumps and scratches, not after any real protection from the elements http://www.cardustcovers.co.uk/car_covers/
  11. Anyone use an indoor dust cover for their car? Seem to be so many different ones and very little to tell what is good or bad
  12. For the first time in ages, I moved the car out the garage! Still didn't find the break in the fuel pump wiring, but put a jumper wire on to make it work.
  13. I find it interesting the NHS staff attitude to praise, the Mrs and all her colleagues find the "clap for carers" very uncomfortable, The hardened battle axe charge nurses don't allow it to be seen on the outside that it makes a difference Is it the constant belittling over the years thats made everyone inside the NHS so cynical? The response from one of our friends, a research nurse testing vaccinations for it, a veteran of being in sierra lion testing vaccines for Ebola, was "give them a few months, we will be back to being blamed", I like to think this time, people might realise for the next generation at least...
  14. Unfortunately that paper is absolute trash, no one up here reads it! Its worse than the NOTW!
  15. Hendricks Gin tonight, attempting to keep her awake by feeding her Daffy's Gin Intravenously!
  16. I was learning about this last night from er indoors, after watching the thing on the news about the Mercedes F1 team doing CPAP devices... The one i found amazing was BiPAP which applies pressure on inhale and exhale, apparently it applies more pressure on breath in, and less on breath out, and can somehow force you to take an amount of breaths per minute and all just through a mask and a fancy box, how it does it is a mystery to me. They are all amazing bits of kit, hats off John, that would scare the **** outta me to be in control of that.
  17. And I thought I was bad for screens... Excuse the umpa lumpa...
  18. Its the damn Irn Bru bars you need to watch out for, destroyed a whole generation of kids teeth! literally! Saying that, there is nothing better to cure a hangover than a nice full fat Irn bru!
  19. You really don't have to look far, im sure village life is quiet but in the cities and suburbs there is a lot of people out and about, our local beach was heaving again this weekend, everyone drove there to get their "once a day" exercise...
  20. I saw Billy Connolly live a few years back, I follow his response to it, It's not the years flouncing on a beach you are knocking off your life drinking, it's those where your miserable in a care home ( paraphrasing, language was a lot more colourful)
  21. Problem is how else are they going to enforce a lockdown, too many people are still ignoring it. I think road blocks are the answer
  22. Everyone has been recalled, leave cancelled and a lot of detectives are back on the beat. Sister in law is a DI, she trains new recruits, she's back on the beat, but so are the new recruits, some of which have very little training
