  1. The banjo fitting might be nice. Mine is not exactly the "octopus" but I've got good pressure up there. Set up is like this. to forward filter and oil cooler under radiator
  2. Not exactly. Really its more the cam/compression ratio that "gets" it. The octopus simply lubes this better and allows it to work up to, perhaps 8000 rpm when all those motor stars are in alignment. I don't think it GIVES power; but it certainly helps extract it. Jason
  3. Jason Ostrowski in the Friendly Ghost Racing "Zippy" At the 2013 Kastner Cup at Road AmericaThe Yellow Car Racing the Following weekend at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan You guys are both awesome with all these new developments! Keep it up. For the record... although my set ups are very old developments, and in spite of what they "appear" to be... neither of my rear end set ups are "mostly stock". And are each very different but they both work very well. The Yellow car has custom made axles (half shafts) and hubs that were designed (privately) in 1972 to compete with the Group 44 cars. The axles are similar to TR6 axles and utilize Corvair cv joints and have altered wishbones. My "development" is mostly attention to old details and constant maintenance to perfection prior to every race. This set up consistently shows zero wear... race weekend after race weekend. The green car has some majorly strong custom made billet axles and hubs yet still uses the rotoflex. Here we are additionally stabilized with a rear bar. (Yellow car has no rear bar) The yellow car handles like a roller coaster.(on a rail) The green one not so much... more tail happy and requires a bit more attention. but it sure is fast. Before I broke the upright, while I was pulling away from Clark at the Kastner Cup I was pushing the RPM's to a FULL 8000 at the bitter and violently shaking end of 4th gear! That is the fastest I have ever gone in a GT6.
  4. Martin, What was your reason for changing away from the 16P's?
  5. I think the handling characteristics of a car with the top of the cage being equal to the top of the carb intake will be interesting to say the least. Visibility? front heavy? Cooling issues? I like the really bad ass look, love the front valance as well. But lets just say I'm glad my wallet will not be in charge of sorting out the driveablity issues. I don't think anyone could doubt this car will be FAST in a straight line. Like Chris, I would not look forward to entering turn 1. Jason Ostrowski Friendly Ghost Racing
  6. Watson, You can get these a bit closer to home from Ted Scumacher at TS Imported Automotive (Pandora, Ohio) He has lots of stuff you'll need and has resonable prices. For the most part, unless you are going to make bronze ones, these should be fine. The black ones are Delrin which is basically poly. http://tsimportedautomotive.com/
  7. Thanks All, Nice to connect again Brad. And true, some high volume audio might do the photos more justice. Here's a few more pics.
  8. Alfetta's are awesome, I was lucky in that we had one (a '76) right about the time I got my drivers license. Learned how to drive in it. Then learned how to drive fast in it. We hade a some killer ansa or monza exhast on there, and you could here that sweet sound coming from miles away A fella can have a lot of fun in one of those.
  9. In the rear, this car has a combination of axle/halfshaft bits from TR6, Corvair, Custom hubs and tweeked stock wishbones. It is a CV joint set up. Neatly set up with stiff competition. leafspring and carrera shocks. Locked, (welded) or LSD in 3.89 and 4.11. more photos later.
  10. Well hello All you crazy Sideways Dogs. Somehow I have missed this site in my past internet travels. Interesting reading of past threads on here has sucked a few hours of each of my past couple days. I see a few of my friends from my side of the pond are here quite frequently. Interesting. Guess I'll introduce myself as I am happy to be here. Jason Ostrowski GT6 Race Car Fanatic. I grew up at the racetrack with my dad racing Triumph GT6's in the 70's and 80's Crewman and mechanic for race cars in central united states (lifelong) I have a team called Friendly Ghost Racing. And race a 1969 Triumph GT6+ in Competion regularly (mostly) in central USA. I maintain several (3) Historic GT6 racecars and spend lots of time at the track. I honed my kraft for many years as a road racer in go-karts, and am still a supporter of karting (now as team owner/sponsor and instructor) In the small world of GT6 racers, my car is cool in that it is an original SCCA race car. Privately owned, it competed against the factory teams in a great era of United States Sports Car Racing.(for Triumphs) Obviously, the car is in constant developement. For the most part, we have to stick to fairly strickt regulations of preparation. For 2013, I'm pretty dedicated and will focus my efforts on my quest for the Kastner Cup. Some may know already... that is our yearly (USA) call it.... "BIG TRIUMPH RACE" So thats it. For your purposes; GT6 guy....I race, I break, I fix. Friendly Ghost Racing is team that offers race support and good times to everyone Believe it or not... we do this for the fun of it. Always have... Always will. Again... Nice to be here, Happy to meet you, Jason Ostrowski Friendly Ghost Racing 1969 Triumph GT6+
