The only way to get them across to the current software is for a mod/admin to manually update every post in the new thread. It's absolutely worth doing for our educational/informational threads, and if you think a thread is worthy, this is the place to put in a request. C. I suspect it's a BBCode Vs Html code problem. I haven't allowed Html atm, it's not overly safe. Will look into it.
