I'm a bit surprised at the lack of sightings of classics. Particularly north and west as it is a popular venue for group outings from the UK and further afield. Although it does seem that there are far fewer regularly used local classics now. Sadly. As for the state of the roads!! -
It really is, im sure I've done it that way before but maybe not. I'll have to clean up the cutout in the tunnel on the body a bit and maybe extend the prop cover but no biggy. I had a feeling it might be, I've never stripped one of these boxes and don't particularly feel like it. It might be coming from the selector join, I might add a smear of sealant and new gaskets of they have them. And thanks, ill check the bolts but I dont think im going to get into it, just a clean and check. I think it sits too high up to see any oil but im sure it'll still find a way of leaking some It really was, thankfully by the time the bits arrive, then weather will have cooled off a bit, 32ish for the next 2 days so definitely not even going to enter the garage! Thanks, I'll take a good look over it all. On a side note I did notice a bit of play in my clutch bearing, and its quite noisy when spun, I'll measure the clutch plate thickness but might be worth chucking one in, or at least replacing the bearing. I have noticed a small misting of oil around the rear of the head gasket, feed bolt in the head is dry, I can only assume its the extreme oil pressure at the moment with the fresh rebuild. Before the box came out, from cold, revving to 1500-2000rpm the gauge maxes out at 100psi! Once hot, idle is around 70psi and climbs up to 90ish. I assume this will settle once broken in, the prv seems to be working when warm. Im sitting scared to rev it slightly cold and watch the engine explode in front of my eyes

I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out! Nice pic. Your bonnet vents look cool. -

As you can see the road was very busy and we only just got into the layby There has just been a thunder storm but nearly over now so it should be a bit cooler tomorrow! We have covered about 950miles. Roger and the Memsahib -

That's a shame, apologies for the state of British roads, they're a national embarrassment. Lots of classics out in London over the last few weekends enjoying the sunshine while dodging the potholes... -
I'm astonished, I haven't seen any other classic car in the Highlands, even not an MGB. Whereas this is paradise for small classics. I haven't seen 3 potholes either, that I hit on some main roads at rather high speed. Now the car is missing 2 chrome rings, on the 4,5" Spit 1500 wheels, that I fitted in order to reduce vibrations on the highway... Maybe I'll stop at Chic Doig on my way to Edinburgh...

She's a bit hesitant at 4k,in any gear, so didn't push it too much. Think I need to check the fuel levels /pressure. It's been hot today which may have been a factor. -

Nice pic. But I fully understand how that catch hurts -

Was quite pleased with the photo, then saw that the bonnet catch had sprung, bollocks.
