An apology for my rambling Well, the truth comes out. Yesterday I placed a post on the Triumph Experience site explaining how some members are taking totally non-political issues and forcing them into the political arena. This is being done to hide the truth.  In this post I mentioned a post that was originated by a user, Doughboy8. He invited people to come here and see how a more free community handles world views. He specifically linked this group. Doughboy8 specifically asked that no one respond to his post, and that it was an educational resource and nothing more. Several "Trumpites" tried to force it to be political. Doughboy8 reiterated that his post was for educational purposes only and that we all should listen to different media and learn.  His final plea to stop trying to upset the apple cart was met by a Trumpite who then posted something clearly political and gave Skye reason to shut down the page. Yesterday, I took up the mantel and posted a complete conversation between myself and the culprit who destroyed  the thread.  Let it be known that Skye then contacted me and shut down the post. This a a complete copy of the thread Skye objected to: A user on this site, Doughboy8 had posted an blurb directing members who wanted to take part in World Views of what is occurring in America and around the world. He specifically asked us all to refrain from responding at all. He pleaded and begged on multiple occasions for us to post nothing and use his post as only a possible road map to gain insight and views how the WORLD is looking at us. Multiple members here tried time and time again to force it into a political may-lay so that they could ask Skye to delete the thread. Warren constantly turned the vision back to the intent of only offering another site which permits geopolitical information. What he did was to tell you where you could get real ice-cream instead of a container of chemicals, now called frozen desert. BTW: If you would like a link to find the aforementioned site, just PM me. In a final attempt to destroy the thread, a user who uses the screen name Gofaster , who also uses the mask Milo Fast then made a deliberate post MAKING the tread political. He was acting as a "spy" from the know nothing group and his post was the dagger that sabotaged FREE SPEECH. How do I know this for fact? Not knowing that his post was a deliberate move to take down the post, I wrote to him and explained that it could and would destroy the tread. I explained this to him in a PM and asked him to remove his post. Here is a complete word for word copy of what transpired, my PM to him, and his response. From this day forward, "Milo" is Persona Non Grata to me. It is clear in my mind that the Triumph Experience is biased and implements what I see as censorship. Just to be clear, have you removed the thermostat? the bypass between the water pump cover and the inlet manifold is blocked off? Have you a Davies Craig controller fitted? thanks, Ian

DPF? Mine was pre-DPF.  Great on the highway when someone tailgated me. Drop it down a gear and plant the accelerator. 

Ah! Diesel. I bought a VW Jetta turbo-diesel new in 1991. It didn't get the kind of mileage you're seeing but it was at least 50% better than the petrol version.  Kept it for 10 years, put almost 400,000 Km on it. Did the exhaust a couple of times, a couple of alternators, glow plugs, two new batteries. I sold it used. It passed certification without any repairs, before I put it up for sale. Original shocks, springs, suspension, bushings, engine and transmission. I don't think they build them that well any more. Mine was one of the last German built ones we got here.

For my mark 4 the steel bonnet was 36kg, the grp one is optimisticly 20kg.  This is ready to go weight, i.e. steel frame, headlight, and latches included.  Yours is a meaningful improvement, looks fabulous, and actually fits!

Update: I have figured out the issue with not allowing political threads over there. IE: The difference between not allowing them there, and allowing them here, is not the "topic". It's the members.  I think political debate can be discussed civilly by a rather large range of voters across the spectrum. However, this is not the case if there are also members from the MAGA portion of the spectrum. Rather than debate, they stamp their feet, scream, yell and swear at you, and insist the are the "majority" of the site. And, demand the owner to put a stop to it.  Some of those really heated threads last summer.... one of them made a comment to the effect of "well now we know who our enemies are". Enemies. Because of a political view. Great. On January 3, I made a comment in jest in the 3D printing forum to one of the members. A friend. We had corresponded a lot last spring about printers, filaments, techniques, etc. Not just by PM's but by emails and phone calls as well. He replied: "Let it go, Rick". It sounded like I'd offended him so I sent him a PM apologizing for it and wishing him a happy new year.  Never heard back. Until a couple of days ago..... I'm pretty sure BobM2 was the one who made the enemies comment. I notified Skye and sent him a copy of the email.  I also posted it in "The Pub" very early this morning as a thread and explained why I wouldn't bother participating much in the site any more. One member replied suggesting I just ignore him.  Easy to do with Trolls. Easier said than done when it's someone you thought was a friend.  That thread has been deleted as well. Final weight of the bonnet, less the metalwork is a little over 12.5kg. Can't remember exactly the equivalent for the steel bonnet but it's around 32-33kg, maybe a bit more.
