I really don't suspect it's anything major like cam timing? I went through that saga a few months ago as you all can see on here. Like an exam, showed my working too! So it can't be anything like that... surely. I'll be back home from the gfs later to start the investigation. Only trouble is I have no beer

I mean it was a right bastard to get it started anytime, I mean really rough, missfire and backfire. I can't get it running long enough to get out with a timing light Vacuum leaks, yes that could be possible. I think I'll go around and check manifold and carb nuts and bolts etc.

Blimey, that is some serious improvement from the Senior Management there. You need to be watching your back too!

I know it’s a different car but one of my mods before going to a more powerful piston rearranging engine was to fit (sorry - have fitted) my 4:1 with lsd. The 4:1 made such a difference to the fun value. And turned me back into a teenager ( and those who know me that’s quite a Time Machine !!!) with the fun of the acceleration. 

What a ……… I shouldn’t write what I really think. i have being in that situation and have been helped and hindered  and I have help out others. i must say when the horns are put into use I stop pushing lean on the car and “smile and wave”  gesturing for them to help push ??! Help or go nowhere. however you had a reasonably successful run out and got home under your own steam  that’s a result in my book
