    Lights!

I fitted HID's into my standard glass GT6 headlamps and then took it straight to my local garage to have the beam height set. The beam pattern was awful! Dangerous even. I then purchased a pair of modern "crystal" replacement bowls and the results are fantastic! I had them checked and the beams aligned. The beam pattern is fantastic and I am confidant that they don't dazzle other road users when on dipped beam. The HID's I have are 4600K
  2. i'm quite happy with it. could always do with a little more power!
  3. Here are my rolling road results. 2.5 MK2 pi lump. balanced rotating assembly, rods matched end to end, block decked (recess removed) pistons matched for height and weight, standard head with TR5 camshaft. Ph***ix 6-3-1 and EFI
  4. no chance of me ever being able to run a nice manifold at this rate.
  5. I have everything to make another 5 manifolds. PM me if you want to take it further.
  6. Not yet I don't as the guy I made it for is having a little trouble with the electronics and megasquirt settings so the car won't start. He's had his spit on the rolling road with HS4's and will be taking it back to the same place for the megasquirt mapping. Should get a direct comparison on power and torque. He's Not much fussed about ultimate power increase, he's just after reliability and good MPG. I suspect more power and torque would be a bonus.
  7. I only know what i've been told. I have a feeling it may have been made for a saloon? Anyways the secondary from cylinders 2&5 hit the turret. You must consider that I am still using the engine mount spacers in front of the turret to facilitate my type 9 gearbox. If I could move the engine back another 25mm then the manifold i have would fit.
  8. Hey Nick I have acquired a very early "mike-the-pipe" manifold that just will not fit unless i put the engine mount spacers on the back of the turret. As I said earlier I just can't do that because of the type 9 gearbox. I do like the look of the toilet tune manifold that is fitted to Martin's MK2. It may not be perfect but it looks much better than the pheonix thing i have fitted currently. The Moss manifold is listed under TR6 which is why i have never bothered considering them before. I don't want to buy it (at some £500) and find it still won't fit with my current setup.
  9. I think you need to register in order to view the pictures.
  10. You can follow progress here if you like http://club.triumph.org.uk/cgi-bin/forum10/Blah.pl?m-1345079849/
  11. Yes well done! Mintex £60 inc vat at my local motor factors
  12. Hi Martin How much clearance do you have between manifold and turret? Any chance you could take a pic for me?
  13. Made from aluminium and then hand polished. I made all the bits and had a guy at work weld it up. I also made a jig so it will be easier to make more if need be.
  14. Thanks guys but I cannot move my engine back any further than with the engine mounts all the way forward while using the spacers in front of the turret because my type 9 gearbox just wont allow any further rearward movement. My PI "log is only about 5mm from the bulkhead as is. i was hoping for "didn't need to move it back much from standard to fit" type of answer! Never mind!
  15. Could you please tell me how far back you have put the engine in order to get that manifold to clear the front turret?
  16. I am using a lucas alternator and megasquirt EFI and i don't have any problems. I did have to fit a diode in the charge dash light circuity because this small voltage powered the ecu when the ignition key was turned off so the car continued to run.
  17. Hi Any more info on MR2 seat install? MX5 seats put you too high so how did the MR2 seats work out?
  18. Hi Nick fits like it grew there!! With the boot boards and carpet in place and half a tank of fuel the pump is significantly quieter than any other install i have had previously. I do have a slight issue in melting the fuel pump fuse but this started before we made the tank so it's an underlying issue I haven't sorted yet. My co-driver for the RBRR is an ex-RAF electronics engineer so he is popping round on sunday to give it the once over to try and find the problem.
  19. Hi Craig I will willingly send you the autocad files but it is quite specific to my individual requirements and yours may be different. The CAD file isn't entirely complete either as we did need to make some bits to suit. The drawing I have is enough to get you going thou.
  20. After installing EFI in my GT6 last year I have been unhappy with the fuel pump setup so I made this (with a little help from some friends)
