All aboard!

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, went to Liverpool with Daughter & Family - Son-in-Law had got us tickets for the visit of HMS Prince of Wales, our newest aircraft carrier!    The weather was so cold and windy that we didn't get out on the flight deck, but what a display in the hanger!

From old fashioned sailorly skills like knots and using a heaving line, to RIBs, light weapons, semi-heavies ( SeaWolf missile) plus aircraft and handling vehicles, firefighting kit, diving kit all on display and available for the kids to explore.    We queued for an age, but didn't get bored thanks to the crew members busily chatting to everyone, to go inside a Chinook long-duration ("Seacow" because of its fuel udders!) So the No.1 Grandson could sit in the pilot's seat.   Wow!

Sincere thanks to the enthusiastic and dedicated crew, who without fail could not have been more welcoming to the public!
