  1. All freelander studs have the same splines doesnt matter where or who you get them from 10.9 is the grade (bloody strong) we all know the studs have different splines, dont know anyone who has had a problem even the triumph 7/16 studs (against 3/8) have different splines ford ones are different as well suggest you use them (as many have done)
  2. you posted this on the tssc site, i think they have right your engine is fubar'ed but you dont like the answers so are still hoping
  3. GT has a history of this sort of thing going back 30 years, i for one would never have anything to do with his work, im afraid i put him in the same bag as TLD there are many respected uk suppliers that will have nothing to do with him steve you have my firm vote,
  4. new valve, guide and recut seat the valve will fiail if you leave it as is and only remove the bolt
  5. look it up here under application http://www.facet.it/db_comp/catalogo/catalogo.asp I suspect the temp range may be wrong for what you want H
  6. or it could be big end failure as its knocking sorry h
  7. If they are emission spec carbs the jetting is to small, our 2ltr 4 pot uses 165 mains with -5 emission carbs and that was setup on a rolling road and runs perfectly, it came with 135 mains and exibited very similar problems to what you have, im not saying it will be the total answer but its somewhere to start so you can get it to a rolling road for a proper setup h
  8. slightly oversize worn drums, or drums skimmed in the past making them oversize h
  9. towbar 6x3 trailer and 6kva generator :D
  10. several major problems, the old dos 6.22 is flakey(if it boots at all) on processors over 350mhz (up to pentium1 only) second you must have an old stye chipset on the main board that dos is happy with third you must have an old ide disk drive with a maximum capacity of (and my memory escapes me here) around 150 mb. or a standard mfm drive type only. no sata drives, they wont be seen there are other reasons but these are the real downers Best to find an old machine with windows 95/98 on it and download onto the hdd, you can then use windows networking to copy onto a newer machine h
  11. New prop for type 9 is £110+vat from frontline, ready to go, used two now no problem at all, its not worth messing about
  12. dont forget that in an emergency the nearest object to hand turns into a hammer so you probably have a toolbox full!! lol seriously a good set of traditional ball pein hammers in weights from 1/2lb to 2lb are most usefull and cover most eventualities! h(hammer)(hammer)
  13. jd even a small tack weld will create a soft area on the stud around half the width of the stud, for your own safety dont do it,
  14. sorry to disagree with you john i would not weld the stud at all, if you tack weld the stud to the hub you completely bugger up the hardening on the stud if the stud is loose then you need a new/replacement hub
