  1. Interesting thread Darren, I also really enjoy metal work, one very big concern with all welding, cutting and grinding is not only the PPE its the mess it creates. Grinding dust gets everywhere and loves to attach itself to a good paint finish, the colour then changes as the dust oxidises in our damp climate. I have just about completed the welding work on a TR6 my next job is to deep clean the workshop, such a mess. A purpose built shed would be highly recommended. Paul
  2. Hi John Yes I'm in Cornwall the TR6 is a UK CR model. Thanks for the information, from the history file with the car Prestige has supplied all the PI equipment. At present I'm fitting body panels and need to decide if to install the Lucas pump in its original position in the boot or to fit outside in the wheel arch. Thanks Paul
  3. Wow Nick that’s a very comprehensive reply thanks for that. I will be fitting a new loom and will pay particular attention to the pump supply and earth for starters but will see how the Lucas system performs. Thanks Peter 150k miles seems acceptable, seals seem to be a consumable item. Thanks Paul
  4. A newbie to this forum and first post so I'm kind of testing things out, I have previously restored a USA TR4A which is on the road and all is good, now restoring a TR6 CR 1973 home market car, lots has been mentioned of replacing the Lucas pump etc by Bosch but what are the real benefits of this expense. At the moment I'm still removing body patches/filler and replacing panels unlike the USA TR4a which retained all its original panels, thinking ahead do I need to consider changing the fuel provision set up as Im currently in the boot area replacing the side panels. Thanks Paul
