manana
Egret, keep in mind that raising or levelling the rear ride height on a Swing Axle or Swing Spring Spitfire is done for primarily one reason…. to set the desired camber. If you change it to level out the ride height, it may coincidentally be okay for camber, but I’d hate for you to spend the time and money and only realize it after the fact. All the best. egret
Manana you are, of course, correct. My plan is to clean up the spring, put in new buttons, run it for a bit for the suspension to "settle" (I'm still not sure that's a real thing) then review camber and ride height issues. I'm hoping all the above work will rejuvenate the suspension which has probably not been touched for decades, and certainly not moved for 6 years. I'm also in sufficiently good a mental place that working on the car is enough. So long as I'm not breaking things or doing irreparable damage then a bit of abortive work due to heading down a path that makes it temporarily worse is a lesson learned rather than a catastrophe!
