Spit131
Classy looking motor . You would certainly draw attention in that . Spare parts might be a pain in the butt though ?
pomwah
Triumphs are hard enough, I can't imagine the trouble you have to go to to find replacement parts. There are a couple of other cars in the auction that may pose less of a challenge ..... or maybe not Think I'd have the 1950 Riley (3rd pic. below) and a "modern" but unfortunately it'll never be a classic. zelrik
If the Fiat isnt rusty, it would be well worth getting at the right price - as they were great little cars. That old Riley is a classy classic for sure, but the motor & gbox were incredibly heavy (think Austin Healey heavy), so they were comparatively slow. For the same money you could maybe get a 4 door Jaguar of about that era & itwould be a 100mph classic with far fewer parts sourcing issues. The Pathfinder looks familiar, was it a Melbourne car? pomwah
The clearing auction is in Dartmoor, west of me and getting close to the South Australian border (for those not in "the lucky country"), seems unlikely it was recently in Melbourne. I picked the 850 as the bargain buy, but being out in the sticks any of them could go cheaply. Used to drive a later 850 in Guernsey, nice car, but kept bags of cement in the front to balance it out a bit.
