Just passed my test!

Just passed my test! (5/10)

  1. I think they are really only neccessary if you plan on driving "very" enthusiastically. Key points when driving any Herald derivative really fast: 1. don't brake going round a corner 2. don't lift of the gas going round a corner 3. .....well I don't need a 3 cos 1 and 2 were so great! The CC is really there to allow you to fling it round a corner, touching the brakes, i.e. race situation, still for the price it seems a good safety measure.
  2. Going for a rebushing and greasing of the rear end on the T2500 this weekend weather permitting (outside). Hopefully should reduce the "wtf is the back end doing" feeling. Also Anyone got any Stag or other type seats?? Jag or bimmer perhaps? Black preferably, my front seats are fubar'd
  3. Any difference in performance between the 2? Better worse etc? I gather usung the CC keeps the stiffness of the suspension, so using a stiffer ARB is not an absolute.
  4. Hi, Looking at this http://members.cox.net/spitlist/CamberCompensator.html for a spitty of mine when its done, anyone got any experience of them? Seems to have been around for a long while. Not seen them so much in the UK tho, probably cos everyone is running swing springs by now lol. mike
  5. Lol I was thinking that, I suppose the cigarette companies may need to do something similar to keep people smoking. "The all new Healthy Cigarette!" Good for your lungs good for your throat, good for your badger and even your stoat! ;D
  6. Managed the weekend ok, GF has cut down but not stopped entirely. Got a NASTY cough/cold thing at the moment, went right to my chest >
  7. mmm you could be right, I have seen one fitted with a chevy block, but I dont have any info one the mods they did. Question is then, stick with a 6 or go for a honking V8 beast!
  8. i have the opportunity to purchase a 1968 Vauxhall Ventora (I.E a Victor with a mahooosive 3.3 litre 6 cyl engine). Now i had an idea to fit a Senator or Carlton 3000GSI engine, so 250bhp ish straight six. Does anyone have any idea if the standard live axle can cope with that? I have been led to believe that they can handle up to 350 bhp, rubbish?? Mike
  9. Any play is exagerated by the length of the shifter, as resto suggested try adjusting play like that. Anyone got an exploded veiw of the box and shift?
  10. Another victim eh? I bought a front carpet set for my Herald, which you would expect to be a full front carpet set, nope, shitty cheap overcarpets, £40 worse off and no carpets. Grrr
  11. Darn, I though I was missing all those essential heavy metals and "ides" 8)
  12. Did I mention when I quit I did a bit of a psycological thing and scrunched up a nearly new packet of fags so I couldn't smoke them, thought it might help reinforce the "YOU WILL STOP" thinking.
  13. Cravings arent too bad now, like Dave says I think im past the nicotine cravings, GF had one last night, I think she might be persuaded to cut down if not stop entirely now i've stopped. Im not using any nicotine replacement crap, just drags it out more IMO. I have got some spearmint wrigleys extra tho ;D mainly to get some glucose which supposedly helps with cravings as it tricks your brain into thinking you are eating, or so they said on the one show tuther day. I figure if I can make the weekend without one, that will be it, i'll be finished with em. Mike
  14. I was just curious as to what the difference was, I have smoked roll ups in the past without filters and some brands of tobacco are so much smoother than "ready mades" I am still off them, its going to be bloody hard tonight tho as GF will be wanting one or two. ( I leave Jony to make any comments on that one! ;D) I was contemplating just cutting down to 1 or 2 a week, but given the advice on here it just seems to prolong the cravings. Think im doing ok so far, I would have had probably 8-10 by now since yesterday morning. Mike
  15. How much "cleaner" is the triple filtered? I usually smoked marly lights.
