Just passed my test!

Just passed my test! (5/10)

  1. I have a set of 4 left over from the Webers DCOE ;D
  2. I got mine made up for the box, new was about a ton. Ford front and Triumph rear
  3. I think Marcus lives in Maryport Cumbria! However he may and I only say may! be from Newcastle area? I am sure Steve knows more? However he is a genuine, nice bloke! Rob
  4. I have a simalar one on my type 9 conversion! Bought from the bay in gloss black but also available in chrome! A nice feel to the gearstick. Sorry for the photo a poor phone one mid trial fit of the box. Rob
  5. All, Fanks!! sorted with a new manifold gasket and re-fit of the manifolds. With a carb tool from Steve (gt6steve)? I think he is called on here? The car is running sweetly ready for the weekend ;D Realworld, as you said, I should have known, the manifolds have been pff loads of times with the same gasket re-used! I should have checked the gasket but wanted the bits on as I was fed up with taking the lot apart again! Thanks Thanks again Rob
  6. Yes the sound is with the revs, I could make a video of it tomorrow. Cheers
  7. I set the tappets today and did a bit of cosmetics in the car interior for the weekend. I tried to start the car and again flattened the battery and then the battery pack. I have no idea what is up, it will only start with the use of jump leads. So I started the car with the assistance of a modern motor and a set of jump leads, and she runs. It turns over and you can hear it catching and then it just keeps turning before finally starting, I put the old ignition system on and it again has trouble starting (so not megajolt). When it runs its is fine it will run in every gear and has no loss of power. BUT there is a horrible wining noise, it sounds like a dry bearing but not if you know what I mean?? It is coming from the carb side and goes a little quieter when you press down on the carbs? I know the sound is not the alternator or waterpump, or fan belt! Any suggestions on the noise or the starting problem.
  8. I like it in a funny sort of way! Very clean and thought out. The rear end lets it down and I cannot think how much filler or fibreglass has gone into that
  9. Yes as Bruce said ! these cars are made for driving ;D I few more tweeks and the Spit should be a fast track car! Well lets give it a go ;D
  10. Bruce, You were on a flying lap! which was coming together nicly ;D If your doing Oulton park in November I will return the favour (the run and hopfully not the head gasket) It was a good day! spoilt by your misshap! Rob
  11. Yea, they are simalar! (gt6) I had a set of these fitted for a while, the tappets were nice and quiet and the car ran well! (lasted 3k) However when the original set of rockers were put on, apart from being a little noisy there were no noticable power difference. Rob
  12. I too have been looking for these, as the caps on my Mimilites have a few tabs broken off! Rob
