Find a friendly garage with a gas analyser to check for hydrocarbons in the
cooling system.

Back in the 70s when my friends at the MG shop in Manchester were racing MGBs in the BCV8
championship. Bill Hewitts standard class winning MGB produced 93bhp at the rear wheels on Harry Ratcliffes
rolling road. The only mod. was bored out to 1860cc, all other parts carbs camshaft, exhaust & cylinder head
all standard as per the regulations ( as a point off interest we always used the 3 bearing engine to reduce
friction loss ). I did build a 5 bearing standard engine for racing that produced 87 bhp at the rear wheels
still on Harrys rolling road.

Possible crank case from a Rolls Royce tank engine. Interesting picture of Barry Sheene with his wife Stephanie.
I remember meeting here back in the swinging sixties when she was modelling ,we were in the RAF Association club
one Monday night in Sale at their weekly disco. She was with two other models, we all went on to Blinkers Night Club
in Manchester. Happy days.

I remember spectating at the Lombard RAC rally in the 80s in my TR6 traveling through South Wales to the next stage, fabulous clear roads speeding along between 70-8omph ( that's when I was young & foolish ) with Tony Pond following in his 6R4, as we came up behind a line of slow moving traffic I slowed down & pulled over as Tony with his co-driver Rob Arthur pulled alongside both waving at me before taking off down the road past all the slow moving traffic, fabulous exhaust note like a F1 car, happy memories.

An electric engine coolant pre-heater may be a solution to your problem, glow plugs can be a bit
of a nightmare to replace due to seizing in the head & there small size. If they snap it is a costly
process to replace them. You need to access the wiring to the plugs to check the supply if possible.

Had an annual blood test 12 yrs ago P.S.A. 4.2 after 3 months rose to 6.7, biopsy result positive for
carcinoma of the prostate. Treated with radiotherapy. P.S.A now checked on a regular basis .4 to .5
I had no symptoms of cancer. Please all you men out there over 55 have the blood test and be a
cancer survivor.
Good luck Roger
