WELL IVE TRIED 28MM CHOKES AND ALTERED THE JETTING, NO LUCK AT ALL IT STILL JUDDERS ON RAPID ACCELERATION SLIGHTLY WORSE WITH THE 28'S, ALSO TRIED 30'S PUMP JETS LITTLE CHANGE, SO I FITTED AN AFR METER. THIS HAS CERTAINLY HELPED THE SETUP AND SO THE PERFORMANCE HAS IMPROVED, BUT STILL JUDDERS UNTILL ABOUT 3100 RPM. SO I MAY TRY ANOTHER SET OF CARBS I HAVE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH WOULD BE BEST DHLA'S "C" OR "E" SERIES. FAILING THAT I MAY TRY TWIN REECE FISH'S . IVE USED THEM BEFORE BUT FOUND SETUP WASNT EASY BUT NOW WITH SOME BETTER LINKAGE AND THE AFR IT SHOULD BE CHILDS PLAY ????????????????? ITLL SAVE A KG OR TWO AS WELL. SHOULD I RUN THEM WITH A BALANCE TUBE DOES ANYONE KNOW. STILL TRYING AND ITS BETTER THAN WATCHING CRAPPY TV?
  2. THANKS FOR THE REPLY'S FELLAS. IVE TRIED ALL PERMUTATIONS OF 30/33MM CHOKES /120 TO 126 MAINS / 170 TO 200 AIRS /.6 EMULSIONS / 40 TO 55 IDLES, AND HAVE TRIED ADVANCING THE CAM TIMING BY 4 ISH DEGREES, NON OF WHICH HAS AFFECTED THE LOWDOWN STUMBLE. I THINK YOU MAY BE RIGHT ,FAST DRIVER, ABOUT THE PUMP JETS I HAD TRIED 38'S OUT OF MY TYPE E'S AND DETECTED NO DIFFERENCE TODAY I TOOK OFFTHE TYPE C CARBS (NOT E's AS I HAD SAID) TO TRY TYPE E's AND WAS CHECKING THE PUMP JET FUNCTION THEY DRIBBLED RATHER THAN SQUIRTED FUEL WHEN I PUT THE ORIGINAL 33'S BACK IN THEY SQUIRTED. THEY ARE BOTH FORWARD FIRING TYPES (NOT DOWNWARD LOTUS TYPES) AND I HAVE NOT DETECTED ANY OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE BUT I DONT YET KNOW WHY THIS IS SO. MAYBE THE DIAPHRAGM NEEDS ADJUSTMENT. ILL LOOK INTO A WIDEBAND SENSOR. I REALISE A ROLLING ROAD SETUP IS THE ANSWER BUT IS THERE ONE THAT CARRYS DELLORTO JETS ANYMORE ? ITS A 1969 NSU TT BY THE WAY BUT I DOUBT THIS WILL HELP ??? ILL GET THERE EVENTUALLY IF I DONT HOLE A PISTON !!THANKS AGAIN
  3. HI THERE EVERYONE, CAN ANYONE OUT THERE SUGGEST JETTING FOR A 1292cc PORTED N POLISHED, 328 CAMMED , BIGGER INLET VALVED ENGINE. AT THE MOMENT IT HAS A LARGE STUTTER IF I MASH THE ACCELERATOR FROM LOW TO MIDRANGE, IF GENTLE IT IS OK. ALSO LACKS A LITTLE AT TOP END IN 3rd AND 4th. WOULD UNIVERSAL PERF BE PREFERABLE TO E's I USE THE CAR ON ROAD AND FOR HILL CLIMBS. CURRENT SETUP DHLA 40 E 33MM CHOKES 124 MAIN 200 AIR CORR .5 EMULSION 45 IDLES 33 PUMPS MAX RPM 8K 1st 2nd MANY THANKS, DAVE
  4. Ive only just joined the forum and you probably know what you have by now but here goes. They are universal performance types 'cause stamped DHLA 40 with no suffix letter, and idle mixture screws not enclosed in towers
