People can see your grin with a compton style. 8) Bit of a shake up going on. Its come time to start riding horses again. Deb being, of course, damn bloody good. Infact, while at my Moms, Bro and Sis decide that we should all go for a hack, an impatient chestnut Thorough bred, called Becka, was my ride. After fighting with Becka for 500 yards, towards the beach, which is breath taking in itself, Deb dragged me off and went full pelt beside the waves. The only thing I could have wished for was a Yeeaaaahhhhh, and seeing Deb rob a stage coach...... : So as Deb is affected by recent blows to her confidence, I figure I should, not only to add to the time I've spent doing manual labour tasks, but to get involved in the other aspects, as well as Deb doing some other stuff. She likes bikes, Kevin being a thoughtful brother, used to come and get Deb when he aquired new machine ,and hes had a few of the greats. Now a Harley. Tony, one of Debs other Bros, who was sadly taken from us, nicked our KH400, after helping with new pistons. Maybe Deb can hop on a metal horse, at some point, and I will attempt to continue learning to ride a horse, that we might look for, or theres a 16.3 Shire X Thourough bred, called Wynn whose ready to make a complete fool of me...... :X As Ray sold his Suzuki, I've got his flip up, which nearly chopped my big ears off, until I tried the other way of putting it on..... : Ohhh, and his gloves......(sorcerer) Stay safe.

Hi. Glad to be here. Had to miss not being able to use Internet, but found reward in other areas. On list of long over due tasks, is: Plastic bag allowed filler to be worked, compressed with cast, etc, without sticking etc. The tricky bit was to duplicate, top sections. the lowers pretty much found there path, but higher up where contours spread, I cut "X" refief cuts(Can see lines in at least centre pic) in areas that seemed the very highest points, therefore symetrical, or more chance, profiled, transferred over. Checking showed this was not 100%. So completed using heights etc.

Been quite a while since last posting, so this might cover a few bases. Hope everyone is okay, and that Christmas and New year was rewarding in some way. While Deb, spends time with "The Horses", my day is spent, usually, garaged, and assisting, hopefully in a productive way elsewhere. Deb always wanted her own pony, since young. And you gotta admire the spirit here. Deb is up every morning, and follows the routine of attending to Chalkies needs, what ever. And I do mean that. And its the same in the afternoon/ tea time. I helped out when needed etc. Although, during time of last posts, a few things entered our lives. Chalkie was being re housed, as the stables he was then using had some rules that restricted choices during the various weather variations. IE. Being able to choose if Chalkie could stay out in field over night. Schooling/ bonding, restrictions etc. The owner, Ann, was really fantastic though, and farm was great. So, Deb decides, to ride Chalkie to new farm, two roads which was a mile and a half, maybe two, away. Nice road, plenty of vision, ditches on some of one side, untill the end of first road, where theres now a short double bend, where Deb would have to turn left, and travel about a 2/3 minute walk, to new stables. Where upon, some complete piece of errrrr, *Request permission to verbally take this individual apart* decides that, while on his off road motor cycle, to intimidate Deb, and Chalkie, by revving, jerking forward.... Chalkie decides, f*** this, turns, bolts for where he knows hes safe. Deb stayed on......incredibly. Ann had heard Chalking galloping, sound of motorcycle, and figured out what was happening as Deb and Chalkie approached, so had rushed out. This lady was just amazed too that Deb had stayed on. The years Deb has spent, paid off. Deb, decided not to tell me.at first. In addition, while at a schooling session, Chalkie decides to Spook, bolt and throw Deb through fence. Oh nooo, theres more. The Girth strap breaks, while on another schooling session, Chalkies stands on Debs arm. As with fence incident, hospital. Also......Chalkie decides to jump to freedom, while playing in school, and makes a half assed attempt at jumping gate, landed on top of it, where upon some one screams, "Well do something then!!".... "Chalkie seems to be demolishing the gate.............. perfectly well, all by himself." And......to add to that, Deb fell down the stairs. Deb is nuts.......right? Although, Deb has obviously had her confidence shaken, she was straight back in the saddle, even after being thrown through fence. Here is the mad Donkey: The worse news, was that Deb lost her Nan, Winnie. Deb and I, lost our German Shepard, Simba. R.I.P. Were glad that last year has passed. Deb has moved Chalkie again, to a beautiful place, not an un pleasent drive away, from previous. During the snow, people get choaxed into taking the, "P****** street ditch ride." Hope all that took part were okay.(Plan to release T shirts, certificates, and medals soon.) Deb included. (Not in photos) During drving back from stables 6pm ish, I noticed a red glow, in grass, pulled over, and nearly went head first into road. Lethal. Were in the process of moving. More than likely down sizing. So, last couple of months have been spent sorting through belongings, packing some items, and hopefully passing on ownership of others. As far as Spitfire is concerned, the floors are out, with CF ready to lay in, along with reducing doors to half there size, horizontally. That means either, cutting the light weight doors, or, fabricating new. Its gotta be the second option for us. So, Deb will be preparing listing information, for Ebay, etc. Along with various other parts, as Deb and I have worked out a deal on a donor car. Few other jobs have ha some time spent on them, so were planning for a productive summer.

First section of rear molds. Two layers, hand applied, Gelcoat, one layer of 400. Height set, more filler, clear plastic bag, plaster cast section compressed, removed, gently guided lines by hand, allowed to set, then thin layer of filler.

Itching to get the braiding out to give these ago, along with box etc.

After some measuring, found one rib to be out, so removed, replaced. No 6 marked. Filled. Clear plastic bag on top, smoothed to lines.

Theres sufficient strength in the framing on rear plugs to start molds.

^ Definitely. Twist to the usual procedure. The ribs had several coats of release wax, then filler added. Above is third. Each time, filled from lower, each section individually. Ply' etc, guiding applicator. Each rib line was then "cleaned" by "brushing" with 180 grit paper. A light brush over, whole area with same, to reduce high spots. I'm hoping to keeps these lines in sight. The sixth section from base (Left) is the area that I think needs attention soon. Because of the initial cuts of plaster castings and the filler was added in horizontal, or vertical strokes etc, a true surface hasn't appeared. All the casting sections need placing, and screws added to shape, to create height . The ply here is proud also, to left, indicating the true line.

The first real trip I'd like to take in the Spitfire, if/when, its road legal, is my Moms. Snowdonia National Park way. Be great to see the folks. The drive is pretty damn awesome though. 8) Training pilots use the area, and I think, make use of the lay of the land, for a bit of......... maneuvering .... ;D The second trip would be to Spa.
