rogerguzzi Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Hello All I thought I would replace the seat belt guides on Spitty for some aluminium ones as seen on Fleabay But then I thought £34 and the poor pensioner mode kicked in!!!!!!!!!!!! So I bought 30mm x 10mm 400mm strip of aluminium for £8!! I then spent the next 3 days making them (not 8 hour days more like 3 to 4 hours) So I recon I have been working for less than £2 an hour!(But I am waiting for our son to pop around to give me a lift to get the gearbox back) I removed it on my own but putting back is harder! So it was not wasted time! You may wonder why I reduced the belt guide bit(I have not got and end mill or slot mill that long so I machined the slot from both sides Roger
Nick Jones Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Nice. But I’m not smart enough to work out how they fit….

Nick Jones Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Ah, ok.... should work on the GT6 then. No good for the Vitesse without a redesign...... Vitesse is the one that most needs it.
rogerguzzi Posted February 24, 2022 Author Posted February 24, 2022 Hello Nick Is the Vitesse the 2 post type? They do those as well I made 2 for the red Vitesse but made sure I removed them before I sold it(just need to find where I put them!) Roger Ps this time tomorrow I will be knackered after gearbox fitting! Just remembered the Vitesse has MGF seats!
Nick Jones Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Yes, MGF seats. No Vitesse had headrests from the factory.

rogerguzzi Posted February 28, 2022 Author Posted February 28, 2022 Hello Nick I have found them! I had fitted them to the seats!!!!!!!!! Roger
Nick Jones Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 I have something a bit similar which is just a piece of plastic conduit tube with holes for the head-rest posts. The belt just goes over it and it stops the belt pulling down on the shoulder. It works to an extent but needs improving and I like yours, though I wonder if the end needs to have some movement (swivel?)
