Hamish Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I know you love your Audi’s and I noticed this estate was up for auction https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-2004-audi-rs6-quattro-plus/?lot=55198&so=2&st=&sto=0&au=506&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=48&pn=1&g=1
Nick Jones Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Serious beast that, but too extreme for me. I also think that uses the same auto box as the D2 A8 & S8, which have a near 100% failure rate so potentially a very big bill.
Hamish Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 This is a better Audi to have. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions/1983-audi-wr-quattro-npxQjn?utm_campaign=Targeted | Saturday Hot Pick Audi List Email | 4%2F12%2F21&utm_term=01EVS9W82T4YT553HAM65JA3KA&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Audi Hot List&utm_content=1983 Audi WR Quattro&_kx=_lQ4acC73GNN5UiO3u9IFVxhE1EpVWnwO7qrHwlVQak%3D.X5QLxS
Nick Jones Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Yeah...... I do like those. Always been "just out of reach", except now they are "well out of reach". That's strong money for a 10v and there is significant risk of serious rot hiding under that body kit. Not galvanised at that age. There's a specialist just up the road who has (literally) a barn full of them. He's tidying them up and drip feeding them to the market. They are very very nice but he always wants ALL the money. I did come quite close to buying a C4 S6 Avant from him a few years back, but he wanted ALL the money (and then some) for that too and in the end I spent some of the money getting the GT6 professionally painted instead. In fact, I'd be quite happy with a B2 or B3 90 quattro in nice condition. Not especially fast, but quick enough and very nice to drive. More or less extinct though
