Nick Jones
Looks like the marshals post happened to be in the path of someone’s huge accident…… Seems another marshal in the same post survived (condition not stated) and the car driver survived (condition not stated) ……
Nick Jones
This is the incident high energy…….. As the driver apparently survived (I’ve seen reference to a broken leg), he owes his car-builder and guardian angel big time
mpbarrett
gosh that's a horrible crash, the car was flying and the marshals didn't have a chance.... Mike
Nick Jones
The way the car climbed straight up the barrier……..
JohnD
And they accuse Hamilton of dangerous driving! To me, the yellow/green car drove into the darker one on its inside. I blame the BTCC, which pursuaded the MSA (Now 'MotorsportUK') that it should run its own disciplinary regulation, and then encouraged bumping, boring and 'mirror swapping'. Since then, motor racing has become a contact sport. Everyone in motorsport should stand, kneel or just think for a moment of all the volunteers who make UK motorsport possible, especially the marshals, who do it purely for the love of the game. Without them, nothing would exist. Apart from the Lifeboats, can you think of any other event that relies so entirely on unpaid volunteers? PeterC
Yesterdays Mini-dodgems race at Oulton had two separate rolling collisions with the barrier, one airborne and heading for a marshals' post. However the F4 race was boring to watch by comparison, processional.
