Hello All

The Vee belt on Spitty is a bit worn and noisy so I thought I will get another one!

I have been using the cogged type XPZ type but I am thinking perhaps I should be using SPZ type (no cogging)

I was wondering what other people use?

I wondered if one of these would be better as it is from a good manufacture?

ps I used the XPZ type as I thought it would be better around the small alternator pulley!

I would agree with that logic. The GT6 is eating whatever I put on it at the moment and I don’t know why. Pulleys are well aligned and it’s not shouting.

Hello Nick

I had another look on their site to find what minimum pulley size could be and the smallest they sell is this one.

I measured Spittys and it looks like 60 mm (with a rule may be a touch bigger)

So it looks like the non cogged belt would be ok and give more gripping surface?

So I will order one its only £6.64 and free post!

I think some of the problem is that Alternator being a 40 amp output causes slip when first started as it is pushing out more power to the battery and the fuel pump pulls about 8 amps all the time!
