I was asking a bunch of dumb questions on the US page Triumph register about my Spitfire rebuild and John Davies said you lot like answering dumb questions too, plus I'm in the UK.

So the story so far may years ago I used to walk to school past a White Triumph Spitfire 1500 and just adored it, must have one I thought........

Then I turned 50 and had a few motorcycles and a van my wife said I should get a classic car but with family life and no time etc I wanted something I could use so I got an 2004 MG TF 135, I love this car its soooo much fun. After using the TF for a little while the Spitfire spark reignited and I sold a couple of motorcycle projects and bought a 1976 Spitfire 1500 project that had been dry stored for 27 years and a 500 mile round trip.

Welcome Harry

Looks like a good starting point there, though I'm sure it'll be hiding a few horrors.  You'll find one or two Spitfire resurrection threads on here to help you along though.

Whereabouts in the UK are you?

Cheers

Yes, welcome, Harry, glad you made it back to Blighty!

Your Spit's bodywork looks pretty good, although that can hide a host of horrors.   Use lots of pictures when  you post about it, please.

John

PS you seem to have competition already!   Is that a Series 3 E-type in the middle distance??

Hello and welcome,  the Spitfire looks pretty good actually.  I think mine was in about the same condition when I bought it twenty odd years ago - and at the time I happily drove around the country in it.  Looking forward to seeing how you're getting on!

We had to move the E-Type to get the Spit out, oh how the other half live
