Hamish Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 My headlights on my A5 Quattro started to point to the ground about a meter in front of the car on dipped beam. May as well drive by Braille! turns out to be a level sensor on the back suspension, this little switch and connecting arm is disproportionately expensive and it’s fitted to a main suspension arm bolt. Without a ramp and being Quattro it’s more difficult to get to. Why can’t it be a 10mm on a convenient bracket !!!! gggrrrrrr
Nick Jones Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Good to see you are alive Hamish Modern cars, especially German ones it seems are just ridiculously complicated. And not always as well made as they should be.....

Thank you. after a time out from work I have started again and in a different direction. so time messing with cars etc is more of a luxury, that I need to prioritise more as the new sprint season is creeping up quick. I still have lots to do.

PaulAA Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 As we've discussed before, Hamish, nothing on an A5 is either cheap or easy ... but I still miss it. Paul
Hamish Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 Where I work there is an independent Audi guy in the next unit who will do the level switch job for me. a cop out I know but I’d rather spend spanner time on my TR3a H
Hamish Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 Well the rear light level switch lever was the culprit and fixed by local independent http://www.rghaudi.co.uk quickly done and not too painful to the pocket and I can now see where I’m going.
