Hi all!

I'm Nicola, just bought my Mk.1 GT6 :) No stranger to classic cars as I run them everyday and have had everything from a Porsche 911 SC targa to a Midget 1500, so I suppose you could say I'm not fussy!

This is my third Triumph, first being a 1976 TR7 and second being a 1977 Stag.

Enough of me waffling on, heres a few pics of my GT6:

very well put together. I would like to see more of your seats.I prefer the Mk1 with the low front bumper. You can swap the dome light switch for a gauge because the metal behind it is stamped for a gauge freeing space for the radio. anyway well done.

Thank you all :)

Car is very dark blue but looks black / purple in some lights! A.J. - I've had a few 944s!

It has been snowing in Derbyshire so I'll get pics of my seats at some point. :)

A girl with good taste ;) Unfortunately mine is in need of a lot of TLC at the moment as it has a fair bit of corrosion :( Currently working on the Spit as I have 2 weeks off - hope to have it MOT'd and back on the road before I return to work!

Welcome fellow mk1 owner! colour looks Royal blue!

Roy, if you have any pics of my car I'd love to see them :)

I haven't done any more pics as of yet but will do some and put it up. It's all pretty standard under there apart from a chromed rocker cover and K&N's. Thanks re. the fuel cap :D

Could you tell me if the front grille is correct? I have been told it may be incorrect but there's no parts for sale that I can find at the moment. Even Rimmers don't have Mk1 grilles in stock.

I think original grill was 2 piece with chrome effect on horizontal fins.

Your looks like mine 1 piece plastic. Rimmers sold them few yrs ago in black only. Good fit. I painted mine silver. Didnt look good with white car si its black again now.

You may find a used mk1 grill on ebay etc.?

The chrome rocker cover was standard fitment on mk1's :-)

Sorry! Starting to sound like an Anorak!

I best bugger orf to bed! !

Roy, sounds like we have the same grille. It is a good fit. Can't find any originals on ebay but will keep looking. Are there many Mk.1 spares that are scarce / can't buy new? Thought the chrome rocker cover was a mod so thanks for the info :D

George, loving the Le Mans replica :)

Just had a look through your photo album, Roy, your white Mk.1 looks GORGEOUS :D:wub:

Noticed the rad and the alternator conversion, what other mods you done?

Posted

John - practically using it everyday :D All my old cars are used a lot as the only cars I have are in my signature, not interested in modern stuff! :D

Thankyou!

Other mods? Erm quite a few, from fitting a 2.5 & sunfoof to clear lense indicators & grease nipples on track rod ends....plus a few other things in between! Lol

One of the best mods was to sell the wooden rimmed motolita steering wheel & fit a leather rimmed moutney (£15 ebay!) !!

Feels so much nicer to drive (in my opinion!) :-)

Roy, Roy, Roy, you are supposed to wear string-back driving gloves with a wood-rimmed wheel, flat cap optional!

Steering wheels - I do have the original Mk.1 item in a box of bits, the wood rim was on the car when I bought it and I can't make my mind up what to do. Apart from the bits already mentioned mine seems to be as stock as a rock, still running the dynamo, even. :)

Can't wait to get it tuned up on the 19th, though!!
