Hello all,

Found y'all at last!  I recognise quite a few monikers here which is very encouraging. Just thought I should quickly introduce myself as I join the Forum (there are so many, but perhaps this one will end up always being referred to with the definite article as in "The Forum" in the future?). i look forward to some cracking technical debate. I also think Dave is right in moving away from the sometimes incestuous world of single make clubs.

I Hill Climb my road legal but much modded GT6 MK1 under the banner of "Busted Knuckle Racing" (a figment of my imagination, the team consists of me, my daughter who never turns up and the cat that keeps getting locked in the garage).

I am hoping to do better this year. I am spending the off season modifying the rear end to CV joints using the uprights and shafts from Mattius's deceased Spitfire. These are apparantly the original prototypes of this conversion developed by Nick Jones & Josh Bowers (Nick belongs to the same local TSSC area as me and is v. clued up). This will allow me to use soft tyres (R888 or A048R) without breaking shafts. I also intend to fit a 4.11 diff if I can find one to help me keep the engine "on the cam" during my runs ( as advised by none other than our host, Mr Sideways)

I compete at Wiscombe Park (Devon), Gurston Down (Wiltshire) and hopefully further afield this season. I shall be demo'ing the car at the Standard Triumph day at Prescott in May.

You can view a video of my very first attempt at Longleat in the wet by following the link:

Anyone going to Stoneleigh. I'll be going with a mate in an MPV to collect some wheels for the race tyres. See you thier perhaps

Cheers all,  George

George

Well, I migrated to the USA, or is that emigated to, or as they say here immigrated to?

The USA, or at least this part, is freekin' cold at the mo'...snow on the ground, and way too cold to go near the Triumph.

I am trying to ignore the primaries, since I cannot vote until I become a citizen, and quite frankly I cannot yet see the attraction of giving the feds $800 to apply for it!

I reckon Obama is the most likely democrat at this time, but could not name which republican is going to stand against him, whomever wins has got a lot to fix, with the lack of health care for so many millions, the messed up economy and Iraq.

I can however still vote for the UK Govt, (for 15 years after leaving the UK)

Best Regards

Léon
