Martin Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hi all, I´m Martin Meffert and live in Germany. Working on cars was always a hobby for me. As a student, just to keep it up and running on very tight budgets, later in the eighties some race experiences with a ´77 Volkswagen Polo 1300 (9.08 on the Nordschleife). After building a home an the kids now beeing teenagers, there was it again, the car virus. A friend (has some TR´s) got me in touch with Triumph cars, and as my beloved wife outed herself when she saw a Spitfire that this would be a nice car, I had the authorization and bought a Spitfire 1500. Sold as an easy project :-/ for winter. I needed three winters and nearly everything went into the bin and had to be replaced. However, the virus got me again. A quicker car had to come. I opted for the GT6. I bought a GT6 MK II five years ago in Scotland. It is now running since summer and the 6-cylinder engine is a real experience. It is fast road spec. With Kent TH2-6, modified head, pistons topped and two HS6es. Overdrive gearbox. Exhaust is a 631 Phoenix with big bore exhaust (I learned here in the forum that there are better things, ....). Now I prepare for a CV conversion and vented discs. Thanks already for the help I got in this forum, and I have to admit, here are the people who deep dive into the cars. Martin

Martin Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Hi, lets try a picture from the GT6. Unfortunately I do not have any pics from the Polo in electronic format. From the outside it was just a white Polo with a small front spoiler. However the rest .... liked to play with Golf´s ;D ;D ;D Regards Martin

Nick B. Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Nice pics of the Gt at speed 8). The alloys look cool too. The alloys might very well be destined for the spitfire after a refurb. No idea what I'll put on the GT6 though - perhaps the spit roadwheels as I will probly be forced to sell it when I have done the rebuild :'( Cheers Nick
