Magnus K Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi everyone! Just topping by to say hi and thank the forum boss Dave for fixing my account (mmmbeer) after my poor registration attempt. (computer) Short info: I live in Sweden, work with computers/telecommunications and therefore have great problems with my low-tech Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 1978. 2.0 litres and dual Dellorto DHLa 40Fs, how hard could that be??? I'll probably ask questions about my garage buddies carburettors as well, seems like all of our cars have caught som kind of carb flu... (help) Best regards! Magnus
Gerard Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 1. Welcome! 2. Pic! (members cars threads an' all that) I still miss my old GTV....
Magnus K Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Pictures are nice, true! I'll attach a rare pic of the GTV rolling at Sviestad track just outside of Linkoping, Sweden. Richard Eliasson is the photographer... Since that occation, the GTV has been sitting in the garage getting a new left outer sill, new patches in the floor and new springs (27mm torsion bars up front and stiffer coil springs at the rear). Sadly the carbs and engine is starting to act up when I was trying to get the GTV ready for the Swedich equivalent of the MOT test in the UK... BR Magnus
JohnD Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Er, Magnus, Heysan, God dag and welcome, but a GT V ? Do you owna GT 6 as well? John
Gerard Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 but a GT V ? Do you own a GT 6 as well? I'm sure owning cantankerous British vehicles isn't a prerequisite ;D If I had a choice, I'd mix the two: GTV6 8)
lordleonusa Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Magnus is Alfisti, don't tell him he needs an old British car as well, he has enough TRouble already! L
Magnus K Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Er, Magnus, Heysan, God dag and welcome, but a GT V ? Do you owna GT 6 as well? John God dag to you too! Thanks! Well, I'm not sure what you mean? The Alfetta GT was sold in Sweden as "Alfa Romeo GTV 2000" so as far as I know it's a GTV? Sadly I don't have a GTV6, but then I wouldn't be here I think. The V6 has some form of electronic fuel injection, right? @lordleonusa: Haha! Well, right now I couldn't imagine more trouble than I already have! And as far as parts go, I buy both Alfa and Dellorto stuff från the UK so switching over to a proper brittish car wouldn't be too difficult! Cheers! Magnus
JohnD Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 No probs, Magnus,! This started as a maverick Triumph based site, but now anything goes, that goes. Triumph? GT6? Spitfire with a hatchback? Or are you too young? John
Jony Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 welcome! i always fancied going sweeden! are there really lots of young hot blonde twins there? ;D ;D ;D
Guest Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I'm sure owning cantankerous British vehicles isn't a prerequisite ;D If I had a choice, I'd mix the two: GTV6 8) I have been tempted to use that engine from my Alfa in my Spit ;D
Magnus K Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Triumph? GT6? Spitfire with a hatchback? Or are you too young? Oh, I see... (Google saved me there!) Too young, perhaps? I've looked at a few MB GTs, but that's probably a rival to the GT6 you mentioned... @AJ.Lintern Go for the 3.0 litre then, a bit more oupf in that one. BR Magnus
