roulli Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Hi, I'm Patrick, I live in Luxembourg and my TR6, which has been undergoing a restoration during the last 3 years, is coming slowly back alive. The car is a US model, but it has been reimported to Europe many years ago. The original US spec engine, must have been replaced by an early CP engine (PI block with 280° cam), but the dizzy was left US spec. The PO fitted it with DCOE's. Actually I bought the car, to drive it. I did however never reach the Luxembourg MOT and the car ended up in a frame off restoration. Yes, one could conclude, that I had a bad day, when I bought it... The forum is so pumped up with knowledge. I hope I will be able to learn still a lot from you guys... Cheers, Patrick

spitNL Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Hi Patrick, Welcome. That sounds like a familiar story; preparing the car for an MOT and ending up with a body-off restoration. Famous first words; Might aswell do this too, now I am at it. (behead) I trust you now have a great car you can trust and rely on. You say it is slowly coming alive, does this mean the restoration isn't finished yet? Do you still have the webers on? Oh and some pics would be great. ;D Frederick
triumphlux Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Salut Patrick ! hues de d'Karrosserie schons lakéiert a montéiert ? Oder miss de d'Elektrick an d'Megajolt virdrun faerdeg ? A wéis de schon gelies hues muss de e pour Fotoen vun dengem Auto weisen
roulli Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 Hi, thanks for the welcome! Indeed it was Jean Claude (triumphlux) who informed me about this forum... Here is a picture of my car. All panels are back from the paint shop. I will only mount them, when all major settings of the engine and suspension are done. It's much easier to work on the car and the risk for making dents is lower. The panels and doors have been tied and adapted before taking them to the paint shop. So mounting should be straight forward.
roulli Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 Here are some pictures of the Webers and the MJ installations, in an adequate size. MJ & EDIS6 are fixed via bracket to pedal-box.
spitNL Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Salut Patrick ! hues de d'Karrosserie schons lakrt a montrt ? Oder miss de d'Elektrick an d'Megajolt virdrun faerdeg ? It looks like a mix of German, Dutch and some skandinavian language. Nice looking MJ bracket, Patrick. 8)

PeteClan Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 If you think Luxemborgois looks funny you should here it. Anyway welcome and I like the 914 as well - the engines in the right place! Pete Richards
Gerard Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 If you think Lëtzebuerg looks funny you should hear it. Ma jo secher, hä. ;D Welcome Patrick.
roulli Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 If you think Lëtzebuergesch sounds fun, then you have to listen to French with a Luxembourgish accent, The 914 belongs to my brother in law. It has the small 4cyl., he plans to convert it to 6cyl. Cheers, Patrick
spitNL Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 ;D Just watched another one on youtube, sounds like Limburgish to me.(south east part of NL, near Maastricht) I think if you speak Luxtalk here quite a lot is understandable to the Dutch. Gudde Mëtteg, Patrick. Wéi geet et? Ech schwätzen nëmen e bësse Lëtzebuergesch äddi, Frederick
