lotus62 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 just to say hello, I have a "73 BRG mk4 spitfire since 1988 converted to lancia/fiat 2.0 twincam/ twin 40's Dellorto's 5speed gearbox 15 years ago, K&N filters hidden in triumph airbox. wheels/ tyres are wolfrace 185/60/13 stainless steel sport exhaust(from 1300 engine) greetings rick
GT6Steve Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Welcome to the group! You're just the kind of nutter that belongs with us. Love the Triumph air cleaner, how many people do you fool with it? Nice bit of work on that very unusual (by USA standards) conversion. ;D
smithy Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Wotcher Rick - I see you've got some other nice touches too like the rear bumper, filler cap and bonnet louvres. Very tidy, that.
spitNL Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Welkom Rick, Eindelijk nog een Nederlander hier. Ik moet zeggen de ombouw ziet er erg mooi en professioneel uit. 8) Groeten, Frederick
GT6_sleeper Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Welcome, nice to see a car like that. Job well done.
lotus62 Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 a few more pig's. the hot air escape is made out of steel. in One of the photo's you can still see the back of the K&N airfilters welded into the triumph airbox. on the motorway I outperformed an big healey and a jag e typ (I think it was a 3.8 series 1) up to 100mph but I think because of the sound it makes they knew something was not "wright" haha it was as fast as an merc 500 sec (the old 5 liter v12 from the mid 80's I think) again up to 100 mph (on a 50mph road so did not wanted to go any faster). I have changed the chassis to make the engine sit lower to avoid cutting in the top of the bonnet so it keeps it's oem look(at least the top) and now it is time to change the rear suspention for something stronger and thats how I found out about this side ( nick jones told me about it) great side btw lots of good information
Just noticed the brake master cylinder, I like the cover, but where's the clutch cylinder? Doens't look like an automatic juding by the look of the gearstick. Groeten, Frederick
